  1. I know what you mean, but to be fair, even in the supposedly cold 80’s winters I can remember an awful lot of wet and mild Decembers. I guess our memories are prone to playing tricks on us to remember the very few Decembers that were actually cold.
  2. I think the MAD thread will become much quieter very soon now, as whatever happens over the coming days the period beyond looks pretty ‘nailed on’ and an absolute horror show of mild crud. Nearly all the models are in agreement on this one. Enjoy your christmasses whatever the weather and keep yourselves safe
  3. I’m not even going to look at the MAD thread tonight. I like to keep my sanity intact
  4. The GFS 06hr is a Stella run! * Sits back in armchair with cigar and glass of Baileys in the knowledge that this run is nailed on and all the others are wrong*
  5. Whilst it would be the best Christmas gift ever to see the high retrogress to northern climes, I’m just happy to have a high anywhere near us to see an end to all this rain we’ve been having recently. As things stand at the moment the most likely outcome will be high pressure very close to the UK. Still a long way off yet though.
  6. Well I've never been so underwhelmed by the storms of the other night. Not a flash or bang to be had here. Pretty typical for this part of the world these last few years. Glad some of you got some action though.
  7. Yes it will be too Far East for us now unless something else brews up
  8. A great little lightning display going on at Sceveningen in Holland right now. http://www.scheveningenlive.nl/strand-webcam/
  9. Great little storm here. Just the right time of eve to see the lightning as well. My storm drought is officially broken.
  10. A few new strikes near Worksop/ Newark areas. It may not be over just yet.
  11. The skies are clearer now than they have been all day but that might be a good sign.
  12. I've never known a year as bad as this one for storms. Last year wasn't much better either.
  13. Cummon Lincolnshire, you're really letting the side down this year!
  14. Lincs is always suspiciously quiet. Not had a single rumble this year yet.
  15. I wonder what that strange artefact is that is at the bottom of the lightning strike. I had exactly the same on a video grab that I did.
  16. The cold front across northern England does seem to be pepping up a bit now. Eagerly awaits for the first few lightning strikes to show.
  17. I can't see where the 'risk' is for Lincolnshire. All the action now seems to be in the SE and E Anglia.
