  1. My business partner, who lives in Athens, has sent some pics of the heavy snowfall hitting Greece as we speak... A couple of nice pics here and more to come! (I assume that no-one on the forum will contest that that is a true blizzard???) More pics to follow tmrw. Regards, Scott (& Pavlos in Athens) (PS. those pics were taken after just a short period of snowfall...things have apparently increased)
  2. I think you are just voicing what most of us are reluctant to believe, but this is beginning to become too consistent to ignore. (I would love to believe differently, but the more I learn, the more it seems to make sense). I am IN NO WAY an expert, but as TEITS points out, things have changed far too much in the past 30 odd years, (my living memory), that despite the natural cold/warm rhythm of historical fact (ice ages coming and going etc...), things are moving far too quickly to be able to put down to anything other than our abuse of our natural resources/surroundings! I know that this may all sound a bit over the top, but I am listening to my head, not my heart anymore.... I hope that I am wrong, but it is getting to the point that i am thinking of getting rid of my car. (Partly cos of Ken "effing" Livingstone, but generally because I can't justify it any more - impossible to park, move anywhere etc...) Sorry to be a downer, but have to agree with TEITS' point!!!! WE CAN CHANGE THINGS!! (By the way... I ain't a Hippy, (or am I????))
  3. Fog beginning to set in here...was quite thick a few mins ago (gave me a surprise), but seems to have thinned a bit just now. Temp 6.5ºc
  4. There is a stunning dark pink sky to the East here. Gorgeous... But as they say "Red sky in the morning, Shepherds blooming well run for cover" (or summink along those lines). Take care all!
  5. Lucky you SnowAngel! I wish that it had at least got it's act together for a few mins, but nothing except the odd wet flake mixed in during the heavier bursts. Plenty more time yet to get a whiteout i guess.
  6. The cells seem to be moving nnw, so it does look like London is going to get some storm activity, but it is the far SE and E Anglia that look like they will get the brunt of the action. Keep radar watching, could be intersting for quite a few of us!!
  7. Whats going on there Stephen? L:ooks like a load of ppn is building up over Lancashire and heading south. Any ideas??
  8. Was anyone expecting that ppn to be heading in through Lancashire and south towards Birmingham? It seems to be intensifying. http://www2.buienradar.nl/maps/zoom.php (+ the others we already know and love)
  9. Here are some pics of the snow in West London (mighty rare these days)...So peaceful out there, but about to finish soon...Pooh, but great while it lasted
  10. Get a fat drink together and hope!! I think it should get to us. Where in North London are you? are you more west? (And cheers Northantsmc, enjoy mate...lets hope, but it is a late night for sure)
  11. With you Spayne, let me know when you see the first flakes. It does seem to be heading our way. (It's gonna be a close run thing though)
  12. Give it a couple of hours and we should be in for a bit of a treat in London. Seems to be getting more organised as it moves south as far as the latest radar shows. Fingers, toes and eyes crossed.
  13. Looks like West London may well be in line for that snow! Makes a change, but also means a very late night. Good Luck all! and the ppn seems to be getting heavier as it moves south.
  14. Wind really picked up here, scaffolding creaking heavily, with tarpaulin everywhere...Out of the blue! Wasn't expecting heavy winds here tonight...??? Temp dropped to 7c.
  15. The wind is really beginning to pick up here, after the drenching earlier.
  16. There is a lovely clump heading towards Birmingham at the mo, and more heading through the Cheshire gap. (Can anyone confirm if it snow?) A few surprised people in the morning maybe. Maybe, just maybe it will reach me!!!
  17. Wind really picking up here! (Edit: 5 minutes later and the wind died completely!)
  18. Trying to snow here in West London, but the radar seems to be deceiving! Why isn't it harder ppn? Grrr!
  19. Blooming rain here! Was hoping for a bit more of a sleety mix, but too tired to try and sustain a radar watch. It would be great if i woke up to a covering, but somehow reality seems to prevail. (fingers, toes and eyes crossed anyway) Good luck to you though Luton O!
  20. What's this! Have I missed something?
