At a guess, bulk of that will go through sunderland and the smaller tail section through seaham. Then probably up above consett. All depends on the wind.

Just had a walk to bottom of hunwick. Seen 1 bit of lightening over towards crook/oakenshaw. Few light showers but nothing substantial in the hour. Road is just solid ice. Skating rink near enough. Frozen over the grit and only just making tracks after a few cars over it. Guarantee it'll be frozen over in the morning again.

Parden my amateurness, what are you looking at for a trough feature on those fax charts? I guess its a dip in the isobars, but cant see any?

we kind of had a freezing snow/hail sort of thing come down. sounded like hail against the plastic windows. About 15mins ago.

Update on that. Wet where the car at have been been. 1-2” in the middle of road and the edges in Durham centre in places

4” here at crook on top of car and local estate road. Was 2-3” and some wet tracks on the road between hunwick and brancepeth but into Durham and they seem wet. Bit slushy too. if this is the warm up, then rest of week wil k h fun for those commuting.
