  1. Hardly anything in the north east (county durham) normal day. bit breezy and rain.
  2. is there a thread for the track of the next storms coming in from the atlantic?
  3. Sounds like you work for one of the car manufacturing giants in the north east lol.
  4. Is in Durham/crook aswell. Trees getting a good shaking and roads covered in leaves.
  5. so orange here now....its almost like its past sunset. amazing. Totally still aswell. Shame the cameras dont pick it up. Streetlights are even on!
  6. Getting even darker =outside here in county Durham in NE england. Amazing
  7. https://www.earthcam.com/world/ireland/dublin/?cam=templebar Still going
  8. Bit off topic to Ophelia.....but if anyone has looked on windy.com.....do they notice a second cone of wind coming in from the west? https://www.windy.com/?2017-10-20-18,49.880,-7.603,5 Hope that link works, but around friday 20:00 hours
  9. Even up here in co. Durham (NE England) the sky has a very slight tinge to it and its just all foggy looking. Really strange. Very very still aswell... Also noticed a touch burning smell from them fires
  10. if the met office cant even get the status of the hurricane coming towards us, thats data given by the NHC....we all screwed with the warnings!
  11. The north east england looks to be getting quite a lot of wind aswell!
  12. Certainly interesting. And im pleased its remaining 'cold' for most of the uk. My main interest is scottish highlands for next weekend when we will be away skiing, so hoping for the snow to hang around through the next week and there be little wind at the weekend. Only thing that concerns me at the minute is the high that just glances the top of the UK, so hopefully it doesnt bring any warm temps or rain above 600m.
  13. Surely its a difference of opinion as to what you want or not in a very odd month for the UK. 2nd day of spring and people expect summer to be upon us with 20c sunny days. haha.
  14. 18z run looks a lot different to the 12z from around 180hrs. Azores much further west allowing the cold to drop down through Europe to the East.
  15. Plenty of cold between now and 11th march for highland scotland will be good enough for me. Not liking the sound of milder air or higher temp uppers closing in which could bring rain.
  16. Cant help but think going to need a bit more colder weather than 0c or -4c uppers for snow in the scottish highlands though. But hopefully a spot or two of the low pressure will help deliver the goods.
  17. Glencoe did alright from Doris at resort level (600m) - around 20cm estimated. ] Thanks to them for the picture.
  18. About 5 lobes of cold pressure on the 500hpa charts that head east that cross the UK in that run!! Might not bring the best conditions for us snow/coldies...but thats pretty impressive.
  19. Hopefully.... Im watching for signs of any cold/snow getting into the scottish highlands for when we go skiing 2nd weekend in march (11th/12th). Pretty low snow cover up there currently so could do with a nice dumping before then and hopefully no/little wind so the lifts can run. In Durham, we had frost/ice on the cars this morningm. Still must be getting pretty cold on a night.
