Gutted is an understatement for my neck of the woods(Anglesey) We were under the warning area for most of the day. My concerns were raised by the later warnings by netweather and convective, which moved us to the edge of the warning area. And so it proved to be. I did witness a few flashes from a small cell towards Llandudno, but that was it. I took the dog out about midnight and there was a cool onshore breeze. I knew it was game over. Made up for everyone else

Based on current guidance..
Storms initiating across South-West England giving torrential rain, thunder, lightning etc but as the storms move north they're likely to become increasingly elevated, moderate shear with the theta-ew plume destabalising further the highest risk of severe storms/MCS/possible tornadic activity looks to be across N Wales, NW Eng and up into E Scotland later in the night.
Green area covers for likely eastwards expansion of the storms, less likely to have severe characteristics but torrential rain, gusty winds and semi-frequent lightning still a possibility.
I sure hope this is correct

Why is that when strong thunderstorms that develop over eastern Ireland that are on a easterly trajectory get killed off in the Irish sea before they reach North Wales and NW England ,
yet when storms on a similar easterly trajectory develop in eastern England, they pep up as move into the north sea and go crazy , noticed this many times , bizarre ,
Is it to do with them being elevated? Whereas those leaving Ireland are usually SB?

Looks as if everything is going to be to my west on Saturday. If there’s one thing we have learnt though over the last few years it’s that things can and will shift East at the last minute so for once I’m praying it does.
I'm hoping something may develop in the Irish sea and clip Anglesey

Could someone explain why Anglesey has been left out of the warning area? Is it because it'll be a sleety mix,and therefore not cause disruption? Or is it the fact that the mountains will shelter us from any meaningful precipitation?

Moderate snowfall here ?

Why oh why is it forecasting rain for Anglesey yet again :-( I've done some epic snow dances over the past month to impress the snow gods and get this! Ah well, enjoy peeps.
Any showers should turn to snow in the early hours
