    Lots of reports or rain turning to snow in the midlands, interesting ?

    I live near Chelmsford Essex, but in a village called nounsly which is a bit rural.

    Have snow here but weirdly its not setting even though there is snow on the ground.

    Looks like we way have a streamer setting up coming in from the north east.

    In the space of an hour again the rain has turned to moderate snow, only in the UK folks.

    sleet has changed to wet snow now looking up.

    well the rain has turned to sleet over the last 30 mins thats kinda promising?

    No the sleet is washing away the 5 Inches I had yesterday damn you!!!

    Being under that I can confirm nothing is falling from the sky, however there is alot of fog/ mist forming ?

    still wondering If the lying snow will have any impact on tomorrows precipitation to lower the temperatures?

    The bbc are still going for max temps of 2 degrees tomorrow so still dont know what to think.

    So the snow chances have basically gone for tomorrow, at-least I can say I saw a lot of snow today but sad the rain will wash it away.

    Im not really sure If I want more snow here in Essex which is a weird thing to say as any more would cause absolute mayhem.

    Currently have 5 inches of snow on the ground here near Chelmsford, would that help improve chances of snow tomorrow?

    Guys there seems to be another band of light- moderate snow coming across the country possibly another cm or two in a few hours?

    Now too far north to see any more snow in mid essex, will any drift back as the low pulls way?

    so how much does lying snow lower the air temperature? And how would it affect tomorrows precipitation if at all?

    Just went outside and have got a solid 5 inches of lying snow!
