  1. Red alert issued already. Wife wants to go to Beamish today......but in all seriousness, I think so. I think they will be updated fairly quickly when the showers arrive and we have a true idea of the convection issues and such like.
  2. Have I understood it right that currently the low is not modelled to be as progressive as on previous runs?
  3. It's only going to snow down south ?.I can't wait, work will be a pain in the rear. Folks travelling when they don't really need to.....
  4. Just been into the mod thread. Whilst I don't understand all of what's said ?, you would think this is just a southern event. Folks are looking for the end of the spell rather than just enjoying what will be, going over things that can't possibly me modelled correctly is futile and is inducing Prozac related comments. From my limited knowledge of such things.......I have stocked the cupboards and freezer to the brim. If we have a power cut I will have to have a massive BBQ ?
  5. Dipton, jeez. You would be able to sell that at a profit come next week, Consett does well for snow in summer ??
  6. Anyone willing to take an estimated depth of snow for their area yet?
  7. I can't wait to be honest. My farming friends are not.
  8. I truly think this will turn into some really awful conditions. I know we can't stop it coming, but, some places will shut down.
  9. Our civil contingencies advisor from the Met said we are looking at disruptive snow for most of next week......in our region.
  10. As a civil servant the staff handbook used to state report to your nearest Police Station.....times have changed and stations are shut!
  11. Having to update our business continuity plan at work for getting staff in. I was ridiculed to start with when I mentioned it.....?
  12. I think we are in for a real shock when it reaches our shores......going to be particularly busy period work wise. A1 and A19 being the usual snow traps.
