Are we looking at a West Yorkshire pivot on this system moving north. 50 miles south ... Going to be close. In going for a dusting in West Yorkshire rather than the covering the Midlands will see.
I'm in West Leeds 160m asl. I'm visiting from Kent. Really hoping that West Yorkshire gets in on this because Kent is never involved in these types of events.
What we thinking?
Would it be fair to say that the long range GFS charts are suggesting high pressure building over Spain/southern France next week? Pulling in an Easterly air flow.
Has anyone else seen this?
I'm about that in SE Kent. Outside the Met O warning though. I'm hopeful a few will cross into Kent.
However still sitting at 2 degrees here. I think the wind and partial cloud is preventing a plummet at the moment.
Failing that what about a transitional event as it pivots and clears back through later in the day?
I recall something similar happening in January last year. We saw a period of snow down to sea level as it cleared through.
I'm going to venture up out of Kent early morning to find something wintry. Was thinking about crossing the Thames into Essex... likelihood of snow there?
