Hi Snow Queen, she is ok, very very tired as she has only had one day off since Katrina hit! She was living in her office until about 8 days ago. She is busy with vaccinations, they don't appear to be concerned about Rita but that was 8 hours ago!!
Hi everyone, No news on my friend but it probably hasnt really hit where she is yet. I have been on these forums to ask questions about exactly where she is if anyone is intersted. http://www.wwltv.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=20664#20664
I have to go now, my friend lives in Covington, to the right of Baton Rouge, not sure of the distance from it. http://encarta.msn.com/map_701514297/Louisiana.html
My friend says her lights are now flickering, so the power is about to go. she is 30 miles from the superdrome, so its not safe to get there. In the past she has been helping at the shelters, as she is a government employee. I will let you know if I hear from her again.
She says if she gets out of this she will sue him! Once she found she wasnt required, the fuel stations had run out of gas and the stores had closed down. So she really is trapped and finding it very scary. I know once I loose contact I shall worry until I hear from her again. She is a lady in her late 50's
I am chatting to a friend on line now who lives just outside of New Orleans, she was told she had to stay to help at the centres, then when it was too late to leave, her boss said she wasnt needed, so she is stuck in her apartment!
Was woken by thunder about an hour ago, not sure if there was lighnening, but it was a pertty loud bang. I have looked at http://meteocentre.com/lightning/map_sfuk....g=en&map=Europe can someone explain what the telephone like pics are on the maps.
Snowed here once or twice in the night, has been snowing now since at least 8.15 a.m. looks like the sky still has more to come, depth in garden 3.5cm. It's been well worth the wait.
