  1. Just been out to measure before I go to bed and it's 2" deep here. Still snowing, although it felt like it was drizzling a bit with it!!

  3. Small flurries very light snow at 10.25 a.m.
  4. Re: Baton Rouge, my friend says it has a higher elevation, so is at less risk, although if the Mississippi River floods they could have problems!
  5. My friend lives in Covington, but is currently in Hammond working in the emergency op command centre, I have been emailing her in the last hour and have just asked her about Baton Rouge and why its not being evacuated, if I hear back I will post here.
  6. I am watching this with interest as my friend lives in Lousiana nr Baton Rouge, I had an email from her on Friday I quote below - she is a state employer so has now gone to man a shelter as they are required to do, not sure when I will hear from her again. I hope she remains safe. "We are having to deal with Gustav down here in south Louisiana. And we are in no mood for it. We think that Gustav is being stalked by his girlfriend, Hannah---and they plan to meet up in the gulf of mexico and then they are going to head for the big easy for a date in the french quarters. hmmmph. We have got to be less hospitable down here. "
  7. I think that was rain in Gloucester, thats what it looked like when we were watching the rugby.
  8. For once I am hoping it doesn't snow on Saturday, my son is getting married!!
  9. It's not unusual in the Troodos mountains, but lower down near Paphos it is. It is known you can ski in the mountains in the morning and swim and sunbathe on the beach in the afternoon.
  10. http://www.cyprusliving.org/phpbb/nfphpbb/...pic.php?p=59241 Troodos web cam has been down, so can't see there.
  11. I have just seen some amazing pictures taken today on the Cyprus Living site where it is snowing just outside of Paphos!
  12. Minchinhampton Common nr Stroud Glos, apparently has around 4" snow in places, still snowing there.
  13. My daughter has just rung, left Churchdown Gloucester in floods, now trying to get to home in Minchinhampton and they are stuck in traffic in heavy snow, although apparently Stroud does not have snow.
  14. Thunder and lightening here, started a few minutes ago.
  15. Snow is falling heavily again now and has been for about 20 mins, very big flakes.
  16. Still snowing here, just measured in the garden and its just over 2" deep. Snow has been continuous with some heavy big flurries and the rest gently falling. So lovely to see.
  17. Light snow shower around 8.30 a.m., settled, but just looks like a light dusting of icing sugar!
  18. What a lovely surprise, most snow than we have had here for a long long time.
  19. Lots of very heavy rain on and off all morning accompanied with thunder and lightning. Still a downpour now.
  20. Woken by extremely heavy rain about 4 a.m. this lasted baout 15 mins, and then lightned, overhead thunder and lightning for about 5 mins which then rumbled away in the distance.
  21. Around 2.30 came over dark, started to thunder, then came the lightning, some light rain at first. This seemed to stop, then the storm broke overhead. We had torrential rain, large hailstones, thunder/lightning. Looking out of the window the weather looked like what you see on a hurricane report! Local infant school flooded. Reports of storm drains being lifted. I work locally, came in and my porch and garage have been flooded. At this moment in time, you wouldnt know there had been any rain, and it is so hot again! Just checked a bucket in the garden and it has about 2.5 inches of water in it!
  22. Snowed around 2.45, lasted about 20 mins, big flakes, didnt settle. :-( Now bright and sunny
