  1. Not seeing much of a northerly movement for this snow ..... been travelling due west through northern cambridgeshire for 3-4 hours now !
  2. Loving that good old Peterborough is sitting right in the middle of the green-blob sweet spot !!! Looking at the snow down London way which seems to be heading up in this direction too.
  3. The SE snow has now assumed a more easterly track so looking good for Peterborough and Nottingham now !
  4. Really ? I don't see enough easterly movement for anything to reach us ..... it all looks like its a SE - NW track that is more threatening. I'd take both though !!!
  5. Light snow now in West Peterborough ..... at last !!!
  6. Don't look west ..... look south east (London/Beds) as that's where I think your snow is coming from !
  7. A NW track of Luton - Northampton - Leicester for the London snow looking good to my eyes ...... even if I wish for a Cambridge - Peterborough - Nottingham track !
  8. I would love to be where you are as the heaviest of the London snow appears to be taking a track between Northampton and Peterborough for this afternoon !
  9. Yes - I believe so - watch out for London and S. Essex snow as that could/should pivot up your/my way !
  10. From what I can see on NW radar, we need as much snow as possible to kick out into the line of Rochester - Chelmsford - Cambridge because that track runs through Peterborough. Still looks fairly positive for us later as that really heavy stuff around and south of London is surely going to drift far enough east to head on the right track NW to us (he said optimistically !).
  11. There is definitely a major pivot taking place now as the northern element of the snow starts to head west and the southern element swings east and then NW. I think if you are north and east of the midlands then your best chance will be when the south east snow swings out and heads NW this afternoon. I think that makes sense LOL !
  12. I figured we'd need the London snow to extend further east into Essex and then to pivot NW otherwise if it turns any earlier then, at least for Peterborough, it will slide to the west of us as it is now.
  13. Prefer radars to forecasts now !!!
  14. Is the snow that is driving through Sussex, London going to hook round and move NW this afternoon ..... as it seems to be starting to do ? Trying to find some optimism for here in Peterborough !!! Where's TEITS when you need him ?!!!!
  15. Well me and the neighbour are standing in the garden with electric fans blasting away eastward so you never know !!!
  16. What's the outlook for Peterborough ? Is the snow that is now just reaching east of the A1 further south going to pivet and head north through my parts ? Not seen a flake yet
  17. Its hitting the cold block very hard and the block isn't giving ground so can't see it moving any further east ..... sadly !
  18. Why won't it stretch to Peterborough ..... I can almost touch it but the snow shield is too strong !!!
  19. If you took GFS seriously last week then we'd already be seeing milder conditions NOW !!!
  20. I think the concensus is that model based forecasting of snow within the next 24 hours is largely pointless and that we are now in the radar and lampost watching zone ...... whatever will be will be and every chance it will not exactly match model forecasts !!!
  21. Where are these chunky bands of precipitation coming from that are currently bubbling up in the North and east of the region ? Gone very dark here in Peterborough !!!
