Breeze is picking up slightly and it seems to be getting a tad warmer than last night, hopefully a surprise snowfall may make an appearance, fingers crossed

What's your thoughts on seen snow next weekend folks, reading the model thread it's depends which replys you read, my feelings will be close but no cigar unfortunately
-
I would rate the cold spell 3 out of 10 done nothing for us in teesside, was nice to see some freezing fog but after a couple of days of that and no snow fall it got abit tedious.
It wouldn't surprise me if that's it for the rest of winter but it's still very early days so fingers crossed we all see some decent snow event.

I've got a sneaky feeling come a couple of weeks time we may well of all seen some snow on the ground, a few of the long time posters used to say, get the cold in first and the rest will follow, we'll the cold is definitely here, let's see what's happens, fingers crossed, I'm sending you all snow prayers

Aye, but a headline along the lines of
Updated weather warning as Teesside prepares for a potential light flurry!!!
Doesn't sell papers or encourage clicks.
That's very true tucka, click bait at its finest!!

This is the headline on teesside live's newspaper site for tonight!!
Updated weather warning as Teesside prepares for sub-zero temperatures and 7 inches of snow!!!
Are they seen something we arnt, will they ever learn, there's more chance of me getting a tan via the moon than teesside getting 7 inches of snow

Just not been our week tbh . The wind direction has not helped . I think initially it was a northerly to NE winds forecast which would have drove these showers in . To see the huge clumps drift past out sea is hard to take but plenty of winter left and we will get our turn
Fingers crossed for us all, I just hate it once we get passed new year and into January because you know the chances get smaller and smaller of seen a good few days of snow but then this time last year if you would of said teesside would be one of the hottest places in the UK in the summer just hitting 40 degrees we would of all laughed, so you never know!!

I give up showers dying when they get within 20 miles of here
You couldn't make this up, a week long freeze and we get a weeks worth of fog. What is going on in the teesside area that seems to effect snow falling? That's a serious question too!!

Hi guys completely new to this but very interested in weather. Was just looking at the charts for the northern hemisphere if you look at Friday the 30th of December it look like there's a very large cold front coming in from the west. Please correct me if I'm wrong I'm just trying to teach myself
Hi jammy
I was reading that the end of the year was time to watch out for so you may well be right, although known our luck in teesside it will turn incredibly mild with the occasional shower then turn back wintry once it's passed us
Do I sound bitter, hope not just can't help it, we are snow starved
-
I keep telling use, us here in teesside, its sun, sun and sun, 40 degrees in the summer, nice sunny winters, nice stroll along Redcar sea front, shorts and t-shirts, what more could you possibly want, we are the new benidorm

Costa del teesside with its 40 degree summers and lack of snow make it an ideal holiday destination

Just had to put a woolly on. Steel grey skies and a max of 17c is a bit of a shock to the system.
At least we can all breath properly now Chris

If someone had told me we would be getting record breaking temperature's towards 40 degree's but no storm or rain afterwards I'd of never believed them. Its the equivalent of getting really cold air but no snow in winter.

I still think this winter will have something in store for us. If my memory is correct March can produce some heavy snowfall for our region if the right conditions are here (a big if now mind) we still have February too so it's not over by any means.
