There will be storms about but as ever they will be hit and miss. If we get anywhere near 40c will cause so many problems we simply ain’t used to that level of heat
Absolutely!!!
Ive just recovered from COVID a couple of weeks ago, I'm still feeling a tad shortness of breath . A huge worry is I know a lot of friends around us who have COVID at the minute, I'm praying that they and the vulnerable will be ok.

Jesus!! I was only saying last month how boring our weather has been, come back to bite me in the bum!!
I really hope we see some storms at the end of this heat!!

Fascinating reading as usual this thread!!
Please can someone tell us more about the breakdown of the upcoming heatwave? Stormwise that is? I'm particularly expecting some quite severe storms, fingers crossed!!

Don't post much really but thought I'd share my thoughts.
I've not known a 6/9 months like it in terms of weather here in Teesside, absolutely nothing of interest has happened. We had a very very poor winter in terms of snow/frost, very average spring, we are now in June and it's still a little nippy in the shade but no hot sunny spells as of yet. The weather has become so boring nothing is happening!!
Sorry for the moan but hopefully we will get something of interest soon

Hi everyone, a few snow showers passing through tonight apparently, don't think it will be anything to write home about but those higher up may wake up to a covering
-
I would give the cold spell 5/10 for the middlesbrough region anyway, never really saw huge amount of snow fall but plenty of small hail showers just blowing through, plenty of frost and ice which made it feel very seasonal . I'm 42 in March and have seen plenty of snow fall and lay in that month so all not over as of yet but I do agree with some of the other members a nice spell of mild air wouldn't go a miss but its still only 14th February, don't think this winter is done yet.

Whats it looking like for further snow for us in teesside?
-
I'm sick of seen others with these snow events now, one of the most frustrating winters this must be for us in teesside, snow has been on and off for a month or so now and we have missed the majority of it!!

I close my eyes for an hour while it's tanking down with rain, just woke up and it's snowing heavy and starting to cover nicely!! (Yes in Middlesbrough) I must be dreaming, off back to sleep

I think this winter will deliver for us snowmaggedon, just need some patience, let's hope the winds can change easterly and bring the north sea to life, fingers crossed, we can hope!!

I've been out with my camera this afternoon, left rainy Middlesbrough at 12, a few mile up the road in Bishop and Spennymoor, total whiteout, looked lovely and got some cracking photos, fingers crossed for teesside in the coming weeks

Middlesbroughs favourite anthem - here comes the rain again by the eurythmics

Not very often I post on here, I'm a secret reader , I'm gutted Middlesbrough has missed out too as of late, hopefully we can pull in some sort of easterly before the winter is out, in my experience anything from the west and we are too far east and northerlys are hit and miss too, we need to see our north sea snow machine set up shop, we can hope

As much as I love the snow and cold, I'm sat in the garden with just a pair of shorts on, it's lovely to finally feel some sun.

More times than not this happens, meto update for march signals cold easterly flow throughout with limited mild spells.
Models slowing things down too.
One thing most likely is less cold, but that still means cold and below average temps
It's my birthday on the 14th wonder if it will be a white one ?
-
Didn't the 2010 cold spell breakdown keep getting pushed back and back, will that be the same here?

Possibly certainly looks colder for Sunday. The models keep changing so who knows after that
Thanks Matthew, this certainly has lived up to its name!!!

35 in Middlesbrough at the minute Phil. I've just been reading the local paper 60% chance of a storm after 6pm, I'll take that
