Hmm.. met office going for heavy snow...bbc going for heavy rain ....met the battle of the forecasts commence (and change several times over the next 36-48 hours) .

Far to many swings and roundabouts to get around and over first to call anything yet

yesterday it was the other way round

could it be they are checking each others forecast and finding what the others are seeing and amending each other

  2. Monday 1 Feb - Wednesday 10 Feb

Going into next week, it is likely that unsettled conditions will dominate, with low pressure systems moving in off the Atlantic. The weather will be changeable. Periods of rain or wintry showers, and strong winds are likely, especially in the west, with brief more settled spells in between. Westerly or southwesterly winds during this period will bring milder conditions to most areas, but occasional interludes of cold northerly winds are possible. It will be on this boundary between the colder and milder airmasses where any snowfall to lower levels could possibly occur. Towards the end of this period, we may see high pressure build over the north of the UK, bringing colder conditions and wintry outbreaks.

  3. Here goes Jay

BBC have snow on sunday from 6am turning to sleet at 11am turning to rain at 2pm

Met has dry from midnight turning to sleet at 3pm turning to rain at 9pm

XC weather has rain from 12pm

Forecast from this site is the same as the Mets

who knows who is right, no point in planning anything in this country weather related.

Few years ago took my boat out of Swansea checked the met before i left home, contacted the coastguard (to report time out and expected back in) also checked the weather again.

Had a white knuckle ride back in when the wind picked up to a force 7. Spoke to the coastguard to report that we had returned earlier due to the weather. Was told that was a turn up for the books wasn't expecting that!!!

Absolute bloody bonkers the models gone berserk, a stalled front giving snow Midlands northwards middle of the week.N Easterly set in by the weekend.L.P. then moves up the English channel giving blizzards in South West Uk. Met still says mild all week! The  second down dwelling caused by stra t warming has sent the models into cukoo mode.

i know its gone mad no two models similar

be interesting to see who comes out the closer
