  1. 10 days is FI but you're right..it won't come off likes this..let people have their fun though! When can we expect your analysis?
  2. I would imagine that the high pressure is more than likely going to push sustained cold into Europe giving France and Germany a good seeing to. Im hoping im wrong. Best scenario would surely be for a decent high pressure to build NE pushing decent cold towards us and lock it in. Problem is everyone is referring to 2005 2013 but to put that into perspective we're talking 16 years and 8 years ago respectively. I want to be so wrong but I can see a regression of this cold snap as the days go on. We keep speaking about 7 or 10 days time frame. This never goes down to 5 or 4 days ahead. I think come 3 days time or so we're going to know where we stand
  3. I dont really comment on here too often as I'm a novice but have observed for many years. Its fascinating reading other enthusaists take on things. Amazing the knowledge you guys and girls have tbh. Its the British weather which tbf will change closer to the time. However, why not enjoy the models and outputs. I think your right there's always the thought of if it will happen and when will it end. I bet that 99% of people will be happy for a week of proper cold and snow. Any longer than everyone will moan at the problems itll cause.
  4. The met/bbc must have side backsides sitting on the fence constantly. And they are always so vague. I remember Jan 2014 I was In new York. Forecast said heavy snow at 1am for hrsmmnearvebough dead on 1 heavy snow. They are so much more accurate
  5. Haven't posted for a long time as dont really have any expertise to offer. However, my little boy is a year and a half and hasn't really seen any decent snow. I keep reading about SSW, but the question is what influence will this realistically have? A cold but dry outlook or alot of PPN
  6. Had to drive through town..awful conditions i almost lost it several times..really bad
  7. I have to agree...i was driving at 50mph max on the a12 yesterday for someone to fly past at atleast 70. Snow on the ground and loads coming down. Most people and i stress most do drive to the conditions but I'd hate to read about a child getting mowed down by a muppet. My daughters school was open today..late registration..roads were mental around her school..wind blowing a gale...snowing...and people almost falling over..yet theyve only decided to close an hour early...after the snows cleared. Why dont they just say the rest of the week off to save people driving in it.
  8. She didnt go yesterday as couldnt get out of street but now snowing heavy..kce everywhere and radar saying strong ppn
  9. My daughter school is open again..same as yesterday 15 mile round trip for me...headteachers are heartless
  10. The ppn in the north sea is turning nw..and gaining strength. The other blob seems to be pushing further north. And east than expected
  11. That maybe the case. I was confirming that on the model/forecast 1992 was mentioning was infact in mm not cm. If you think the general rule is x10 then all power to you. However, i think you'v got more chance of me playing upfront for town than that happening...come to think of it i think most people could do better than who we'v got atm. I hope im wrong though and we do get those amounts
  12. Well uts -6 outside here..very bitter. And people are right. More showers..beefy ones are developing. Its very hit and miss which we knew it would be. Its not a single front carrying lots of snow. I havent seen the latest forcast but i suspect itll be more of the same tbh. Still exceptional for the end of feb
  13. Big sell off the coast heading down through suffolk shortly. Looks rather intense
  14. Im pinewood so hoping my 6 year old gets snowed off this week. About time we built a snowman
  15. To be fair...wouldnt 5 days of really cold temps and lots of snow be enough. Who seriously wants weeks of subzero temps? Itd be a pain to commute..cost you more in enerby bills, kill lots of vulnerable people. In reality we have a good few days of historic temps and heavy snow..lets just enjoy it.
  16. I think we should watch bbc weather on bbc1 to follow the news..it will be scary..
  17. Lady on bbc weather said "i would keep checking the weather as things could get very interesting" starting to get excited at the bbc..at last lol
