Paid a becso Jay I wouldn't take much notice of the Met Office automated forecasts, Last Sunday is case in point! Ignore them, they are meaningless 12 hours out let alone almost a whole week!
Yup they are basically nowcasting.

Was this from an easterly and was it widespread across Wales? It seems that usually easterlies just give us dry weather and maybe occasional flurries. Is it possible for the precipitation coming from the east to be so heavy that it actually gives us a good dumping?
Wasn't end of feb early March 2018 an easterly ? Had around a foot in places and drifts everywhere. Very dry snow.

I wonder what colour weather warnings the meto will put out for us when we do get them.

What's the mood like in the mad thread today?? Are they happy there's a chance of something next week or are they looking towards the end of February for a break down already?
My bet is they are all squabbling about why we can't have snow in June

Just had a look in some of the other regionals, quite a lot of people moaning about the southeast bias in the mod thread. Speaks volumes as far as I'm concerned, never seen so many kicking off about it, and rightly so! Mods let it slide every year though.
I wonder where the mods live? Let me guess....

Now they're saying only snow for the north lol! I'll just wait and see what happens as I don't have a clue what's going to happen.
Probably saying snow for North Essex. Lol.

I see the theme of general muppetry is continuing in the mad thread.

happy groundhog day to all - will it be another 6 weeks of winter or not?
Groundhog Day: Bill Murray 'hated' working on the movie and was bitten by co-star | Films | Entertainment | Express.co.uk
WWW.EXPRESS.CO.UKGROUNDHOG DAY is one of Bill Murray's most recognisable family movies, and is still shown to this day to commemorate the holiday of the same name - but Murray hated working on the film as a number of...Apparently the groundhog did not see a shadow so an early start to spring it is.

Seems like I caused a bit of a stir in the mod thread, they're a sensitive bunch in the south east aren't they
Yup, you've upset the snowflakes now and not the ones they are praying for. They are so overly focused on specifics in there. How can they predict something that changes constantly by looking at algorithms produced from previous events? I'm staying in this thread anyway wheres there's a bit more common sense. And its less bitey.

Well, a very vague forecast on BBC Countryfile I thought. Probably reflecting the uncertainty on what's gonna to transpire this week. However, been a lovely day and even if we didn't get as much snow as we would have liked, it was nice to see it and be out in it.

Settling straightaway everywhere here and its only been showing for 10 mins. Now I've said that it will probably stop, the sun will come out and I'll light the bbq.

The mad thread was all ' ooh look at this model, into the freezer ' and ' ooh feb looks good ' blah blah blah. Yeah, fickle is an understatement. They have done ' the winters over about ten times the last month. Ignore it.

Odds must be stacked against us if Jay isn't doing an all nighter
He's out in his snow plough. Anyway, you've gotta love this weather. I'm pretty sure most paces in South Wales will see snow, not just mid Wales. Looking like an exciting week.

Caerphilly will get snow i reckon. Depends which bit.

Well tbh in Risca it would be. Low altitude and the Bristol channel bound to have an effect.

I reckon Jay drives about in a snow plough just in case. Anyway, Knew it would start to seep south.

I expect it will drift southwards though.
