  1. Something a little heavier (than snizzle) falling in Ashingdon area now. Looks like the band that was up at Clacton area, extending SW
  2. Second car came over the top of hill too fast, completely unprepared for the possibility of having to stop...
  3. New showers developing off of southend? Very windy and constant light snow blowing in here now.
  4. So was this storm Emma or is storm Emma the system forming up to hit the SW later today?
  5. Yep. All momentum lost the moment it reaches the coast. There is no wind to speak off really at present.
  6. Does seem to have more of a west drift to it now but will it all fizzle out as soon as it touches land again?
  7. Might need to get to the end of the pier to see it. Not sure it's got Southend in its sights..
  8. 2-3 cm in Rochford area. A tiny amount added to from last nights first proper fall. Hoped for more from Amber warning area but hardly a breath of wind here. Schools open as normal.
  9. Forecast is always lagged to previous models which were showing milder air.
  10. Look at Saturdays new warnings: https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings#?date=2018-03-02
  11. When are apps ever correct? Useful for a rough guide, not detail. Sleet in these temps....
  12. Southend area folk in this thread or the other? Almost touching distance to north kent but different thread..
  13. Think it's more a case of showers reaching you. Nothing to do with temps or coastal areas. It can be cold enough for snow and it doesn't snow - You still need the showers.
