  1. Snowfall is getting heavier now. How long will it last ? lol
  2. Been snowing for 30 minutes straight starting to settle on cars. Pavement is still to wet
  3. Big snowflakes here in low land East London now! Was raining so the ground is wet. Now replaced with wet snow
  4. Tomorrow's possible snow event doesn't really excite me as any accumulation will melt the next day with mild temps on the rise end of the week. Will keenly watch out the window afternoon time though snow falling from the sky is always a sigh to behold.
  5. I've been following this forum since last March with the arrival of the beast from the east. A fan of exciting weather obviously but all this model watching and hanging on to every op run business makes me lose my enthusiasm. Every 6 hours the mood seems to change I honestly can't believe how some people don't get exhausted from this. Our climate is pretty mundane as it is I was expecting more experienced weather enthusiasts on here to have a bit more sense and not overreact. I think visiting the MOD thread less frequently would save me from my own disappointment from day 10 charts being hyped up.
  6. Hi Tom, thanks for the reply. That does make sense. Japan stood out to me as they are also a small island like us but obviously in a very different location. Siberian winds on a westerly flow, glad to have learned something new
  7. Didn't know where to ask so I guess I'll try here. How comes places like Hokkaido (Japan) that are further south than UK on a lower latitude have lying snow on the ground well into spring whereas over here the sun is too strong for snow to be long lasting in march?
  8. The weather has been so boring for so long here in London. Another mild day out there. Hopefully something seasonal end of Jan
  9. That would be me. Sudden increase in posts got my hopes up. Learned my lesson.
  10. New to this so a novice question Will the 850s being shown now result in low single figure temps? As long as its not humid muck I'll be happy tbh. Most winters we get no snow down here so I'm used to it just hoping for at least frost and cold.
  11. Forgot the last time I saw the sun! Been overcast for days now. Over a week. More rain on the horizon.
  12. That update sounds slightly better than yesterday's ^^ Though any cold looks to be brief
  13. I've only been model watching for a few months (since the beast from the east) but I've learned how frustrating it can be seeing these charts every winter. Cold uppers all the way down to Texas impressive.
  14. Except the potential warm up end of next week has also been noted in the coldies model thread? No need for baseless digs at other members looking forward to winter. If you dont have anything to say regarding the model outputs then please dont pollute the threads with witty remarks that provide no contribution. I look forward to reading the posts from knowledgeable posters here as I'm new to this but these types of comments are not needed. Keep it to the moans thread.
  15. Heavy tropical style rain here in East London started around 30 minutes ago now it's light rain. Feels amazing
  16. Still no rain here in East London but very dark out there. It's got to happen some time soon right
  17. West Ham specifically so East London. Hopefully I get lucky
  18. Long time lurker, first time posting here. What are the chances for a thunder storm or two here in London? Most of them seem to be going off further east/north.
