  1. No extreme heat, just normal warm summer weather. As much as I would like somewhere to hit 40c, just to get the elephant out the room I cannot see it happening, models lead many people up the garden, path time and time again. I'm more than happy to eat my words though, but it just looks like a pleasant spell of weather for the south of the UK next week.
  2. Oh come on don't be so dramatic, sounds like a Daily Fail headline. 28-32c is a standard warm summer spell.
  3. I really hope we do get a 40c, it just gets its out the way. People complaining up north it never gets hot need a reality check. Northern Ireland is probably the coldest European county in Europe in summer.
  4. Ebbs and flows over the next week regarding a warm up. The next seven days look quite stable, always the best of the temps and sun in the south due to a NW breeze. The following week could bring something special, more than one model has hinted at this, but certainly not all, so no need for histrionics. For something memorable to occur in the UK all the building blocks have to fall correctly and many people continue to be lead up the garden path, it's like believing everything you read in the Sun or Mail. Interesting times ahead, certainly a chance of something more impressive than todays 22c with sunny spells.
  5. The rest of Europe manage to cope, even Scandinavia, I do not see a problem. However it is a massive outlier, so 99.9% sure it will not come off.
  6. Absolutely totally bonkers reaction from the media about a warm one day wonder. It hasn't been especially humid today despite all the trolling from weather presenters. The rest of the world laugh at us for very good reason. Yes it has been very warm for a few hours after a couple of warm days this week. I know everyone is different but to me warm is 28-32, hot 33-37 and very hot 38+.
  7. Low humidity, unbroken albeit slight hazy sunshine and a decent breeze. Lovely here in Portsmouth.
  8. Because it's not that exceptional. 33c is a decent temperature, but it's only lasting for a day. The models are struggling next week, but can see a glimmer of hope the south will see some respectable temperatures midweek, with mid 20's and good spells of sun. A good enough start to actual summer proper, but could be better.
  9. Unbroken sunshine for most of the day here on the Hampshire Riviera, warm out of the wind. It is tedious beyond belief that people are writing off summer before it begins on 21st June.
  10. Remember it well. Lovely weather, but as always the TV forecasts always had the coast much cooler. Love an easterly in Portsmouth in summer, nice and hot.
  11. The south and south east certainly look the places to be next week if you like decent temperatures. A fairly slack southerly wafting up humid air and hopefully clear skies. The big low in the Atlantic looks like remaining in situ, always threatening the west with periods of cloud cover, showers and drizzle. NW/SE split. It is still only mid May, mid 20's is good.
  12. How you can have something that only existed in models snatched away is beyond me. People never learn on here. The next week looks best in the south and SE with temps in the low to mid 20's. Away from the warmth the UK looks decidedly changeable with plenty of showers possible.
  13. Best day of the year here on the south coast, gentle easterly breeze and feeling very warm in the unbroken, if slightly hazy sun. Nobody can predict the long range forecast, be it a human or computer, the weather will do as it pleases.
  14. Looks like a Greek SE flow, may very well be a cloudy set up, but in the south temperatures look OK and staying dry.
