don't think the strato-tropospheric set up will change in time for an extended spell of cold weather in January.

water level has been falling around South Woodham Ferrers. by a few inches, having been on water tension brink of over-topping the defenses. so no significant flooding yet but we haven't had hide tide, which is about 3am.
-
south woodham ferrers possible 2.4 meters flooding. high tide about 3am.
-
this posted by someone couple minutes ago. there will be flooding in the southern and western parts of the town. they have experienced flooding before, have no idea how this will compare.
-
River in South Woodham Ferrers 5mm from flooding
don't know where they take that measurement.
-
don't expect flooding in most of the town here. flood defences either improved or built since 1953.
however, southern part of the town it's a case of, in the summer months there is a river at the bottom of my garden, but in the winter months there is my garden at the bottom of the river.
hope it's nothing too serious there.

Sorry, I'm a day late.
Good October, possibly chance of "Indian summer" but I don't want to over-do it. 12.6 C

Whereas just 5 miles to your East the grass has now dissapeared now
One of the heaviest Showers of the day and Road Instantly covered and little bits of grass just left have now gone.
Looking good!
This time of year you really need the PPN to arrive after dark. If it had arrived 6 hours later, we would have got a lot.
-
None of the PPN that arrived over south Essex during the day settled. Some of it was hail. We have green grass.
