  1. Beautiful sunshine, warm sun....sooooo not looking like any snow for us
  2. The latest BBC local weather forecast had the snow way up to the north and west of our region, maybe Northants but not anywhere near Bucks/Beds/Herts
  3. Raining, forecast for tomorrow is rain and the advisorary for snow on Wednesday has been lifted......
  4. Drizzle up here in the Chilterns And netweather still has us down for icy rain
  5. We had some wet snow this morning, trying its best to settle for a while which was unexpected. The netweather local forecast has us down for icy rain on Tuesday though
  6. We had light but settling snow at 1am ...woke up to rain :) Next week now looks being downgraded too :)
  7. The Met Office forecast for my area has no precipitation at all for the next week whereas Netweather has a high percentage possibility for snow...confused.
  8. I don't get it. The Netweather forecast has my area down for snow tonight and tomorrow..92 percent chance for tomorrow. But the met office has us down for dry and cloudy...how odd. We have had a light flurry already this afternoon, so my money is on Netweather
  9. The Netweather local forecast still has my area for snow on Monday and Tuesday but Met office is saying rain....rain or snow? Which one is better? There is only one way to find out !
  10. Just drizzley rain here in Chesham, hard to believe it snowed so close to us.
  11. Not just seagulls. I was prewarned there might be a cold winter by the massive glut of hazlenuts, hawthorn and holly berries this year, as if nature was stocking up for the birds.
  12. I can't answer the seagull query, though we have had loads of the wretched things hassling our local birds esp the kites here in the Chilterns this winter. But I was prewarned it was going to be a cold winter by the glut of hazel nuts, hawthorn and holly berries this year as if nature was preparing .
  13. Thank you for giving us our own thread, if only for a brief time. We Three County folk usually end up in a no man's land limbo on weather forecast maps. Perhaps next time we have a big snow 'event' (hate that term) we can have our thread back?
  14. Richard Cockcroft forecast wide spread rain for tomorrow....yeurch...I hate snow being washed away by rain. Gradual thaw, lovely. Rain just plain depressing and dangerous. Mind you, the Met office and Netweather local forecast both had rain all day for this area and we have had a few inches of lovely fresh snow !
  15. Very snowy here in Chesham. I decided at 6.30 not to send my son to school as he has to go to Rickmansworth by train and if they pack up, my car is snowed in and he would be stranded. Found out the school sent all the Chesham and other Chilterns kids straight home after registering.
  16. Oooh! It is a start though! I will go and have a look at our nearest lampost
  17. Same here in Chesham, we had a lot of snow at one point last night but it made suprisingly little impression on our already lying snow. My son was sent off to school this morning, a bit grumpy but I suspect he was relieved to be out of the house...it has been a long Christmas holiday mainly snowed in
  18. Tee hee ! That would be fun, Mother Nature 1...Met Office 0
  19. Too right ! She likes to put us mere mortals in our place from time to time and weather is gloriously fickle and unpredictable. The met office forecasts of two 'barbeque summers' and a 'mild winter' prove that
