Pure rain again.

Must say i was fully expecting reports of a dusting in places this morning, seems we are going to have to fight for it.
Norwich doesn't do well with snow. Just a slushy covering most winters.

Yes, Dps still to high in Norwich and Weymouth at around 2c, just down the road out of the North Sea flow they are more like -2c
Surprised by that as the EURO4 showed the showers turning to snow at 3am-6am.

You're probably being effected by temperatures being moderated by the North Sea
We have the NW wind. I think the atmosphere is just saturated.

What? It's pure rain in Norwich with a temp of 1c.

Few flakes of snow about in East Anglia according to the radar, an interesting morning for you folk
It's not snowing here. It rained all night.
-
It's been raining all night, temp has fallen to 1.5c and there isn't a touch of winteriness within the rain.
Very odd weather.
-
Kinda depressing getting all worked up to seeing snow and now we're getting nothing.
And not a single flake of snow in the rain despite being 2c outside.

Not sure what he means by temporary snow?

they are probably best placed to - you trust them less than some of the rampers on here ??
It's difficult to get a picture of what to expect here due to the large variation in the charts. I have noticed that the met Office under predict snowfall amounts, it would be nice to see what we could realistically expect.
-
Wish someone would make a diagram of predicted snow. I don't trust the Met Office, they're not likely to produce a map of realistic predicted snowfall.

Too much wind for Evaporative Cooling to take hold.
-
The temperature has taken a tumble to 2c here, in the rain? For the past few hours it just hovered at 4c, so not sure what is different now.
Has a cold front come through?
-
Still 4c and raining but dew point now down to 0c.
-
The temperatures aren't low enough for snow.

Radar currently showing heavy precipitation on the east coast, can anyone tell me if it's just rain ?
It's currently raining here, quite moderately. And the temperature keeps going up and down between 3.5c-4c.
So no snow here.

Sorry, i'm referring to the central areas just north of London
-
Yeah it'd be nice for us to get some snow as the South already had a covering a few days ago, that we missed out on.

Southern regions of East anglia could easily reach in excess of 20cms judging by UKMO latest PPN charts
I would consider those areas to be more South-East.

Anything from 2-5 cm for you I think. Based on current models. Better for those in more Southern parts of this regional thread. Kent etc up to 10cm possibly in a few places.
Well, it's better than nothing!
-
Not looking good for us then.
-
What does this mean for East Anglia though, ignoring Southern England? That low looks quite far south from us.

Looking cold Wednesday though max of 3c and down to -3c Wed night with a severe frost so any snow could hang around for a fair bit.
I suppose. It just depends on how much falls.
-
Quite a bit of precipitation over me at the moment, but nothing falling. Let's hope this doesn't happen when the front comes on Tuesday evening, or we'll end up with nothing.
