Hey mr crazy snowfan I am glad you got your snow, you would have loved it down here in Hythe, Kent this morning we had 2-3 inches from mega heavy showers. Current conditions: lying snow in places (some melted away this afternoon), several beefy showers over the sea towards France some have anvil tops like thunderstorms, had a shower a little while ago but I think they are fading out.

Had 2-3 inches down in Hythe, Kent this morning from a series of hefy showers some lasting 20-30 minutes each. No sooner had one finished and it was sunny another one was following soon behind from the East.Went for a walk in the woods up on the hills was very pretty. Probably had the most down here in Hythe, Kent along with other posters in Maidstone, Kent and Southend by the sounds of it. I took some photos but they are on 35mm film and I have to develop them. Snow has melted on the sea front but still some showers about, but not as many.

Just had a hefty shower on the coast down here in Hythe, Kent which led to fat flakes and whiteout blizzard conditions with strong wind drifting the snow. That left about 2-3cm of snow everywhere and there is another large shower just about to hit from the East - Folkestone direction.

Moderate snow falling in Hythe, Kent a dusting so far. Haven't seen any charts or tv forecasts today so I don't know if it's just an odd shower or more prolonged?.

A real combination down in Hythe, Kent this afternoon. Started off early this morning flakes in the wind. Then that fine icy pellet drizzle, then light snow tiny flakes, and for the past two hours it can't make it's mind up. We've had a combination of moderate light sleet, light snow, heavier bursts with massive flakes, drizzly light rain, rain barely sleet, then back to snow again, light bursts, heavy bursts. Looking out for the GFS predicted precipitation through to this evening hopefully something may stick though I think this is the last of it for this cold spell. Pretty to watch though!.

Snow flurry in Basingstoke earlier today I heard from a relative. I am also sure I saw a few snow flakes in the strong wind in Folkestone, Kent.

Careful there Wes!
Still snowing down here in Hythe Kent, actually seems to be pepping up a bit again.

Rain that just started now turned to heavy snow and blowing winds in Hythe Kent! Because it's so heavy and blowing it's settling where it just rained. Thought we would get just rain being on the coast but yay I'm off for a walk in it while it lasts catch you lot later :-) Enjoy the snow..

Light rain by the look of it outside in hythe Kent. Will it turn to snow like it did in London?

Just half a cm to 1cm in places on rooftops and cars, grass in Hythe Kent. Was snowing at 7am and through till about 8am.
Colleague in Ashford Kent more inland recieved 2-3 inches.

Just started snowing lightly north of Basingstoke, North Hampshire. Still currently frost patches around and thick ice and cloudy, temperature around 0 celsius.

Had sleet and a little snow north of Basingstoke in North Hampshire earlier today, mainly between 10am and 1pm. It was mixed in with what was mainly gentle rain for the rest of the day which has tapered off now.

I didnt think it was going to be the rain or sleet event the media said because when I woke up the car park outside was a sheet of ice and it was about -2 or lower overnight even on the seafront.
Both BBC1 and ITV seemed to rush over what would happen early in the morning and focussed on the snow overnight in the midlands then showing rain by the afternoon in Kent.
When the band arrived here in Hythe, Kent just before 10am and it started off as light snow then moderate and then heavy snow for a couple of hours. At one point the snowflakes were literally as big as golf balls. Left generally 1 inch and 2 inches in places, there are probably more outside of the main town high street area where people have now walked and there are layers of very treacherous slipppery slush. It's thawing a bit now. Probably got more on the outskirts and up on the hills I am expecting Folkestone, Capel, Hawkinge etc probably got more anyone know?.
