  1. So all this precipitation that's flying here at the moment, which is basically light snow, sleet and snizzle, is that actually pepping up as it goes in land? Looking at the radar it looks heavier towards Ashford/Maidstone way than it is here, is that what they talked about the updraft and hills or something technical earlier? Because it's not exactly heavy snow here unless the main "event" hasn't arrived yet. :drinks:

  2. Is that in regards to the coming front moving North-West over the Channel from France. It was predicted to bring us light snow, and that's what it is bringing to those areas in France. However as we have seen today with this minor front developing into something bigger due to convection and instability, are we expecting this front to also pep up in intensity as it passes over the channel?

Well I don't know technically, but the earlier lot built up so I'm going with that. :wallbash:

Snow flakes in the air again here!.

  3. I am totally amazed at how much I have here, I have never seen this much snow in my life! Truly amazing and it just keeps on falling!

    Anyway, pics as you requested...

Great pics! You got a lot there nice. :)

Well the snow here stopped for the past hour or so, but the clouds look dark over the channel again and it looks like another "blob" forming over north France not sure if that will pick up some more?

  4. Seems it is still diverting around the east Kent area at the moment, or going over our heads...

You must be just missing it but not by far, we've been getting dumped on over here and it's still snowing, goes between light and heavy bursts.

The radar for south east and EA looks identical to the lake effect we get over here around the great lakes.

Now you mention it yes it does! It just keeps building off the channel.

Out come the snow men builders:

  5. It's great isn't it? Is it all laying nicely down there? Apparently Spitfire Way coming upo into Hawkinge is getting to be passable only with care

WELCOME TO NARNIA lol. We've had heavy snow here and laying everywhere. An inch or two already, let alone the worst was meant to be this evening and overnight?. I was told a recent BBC forecast had nothing showing for east Kent!, are they looking at the radars?

I'm not exaggerating, but it actually looks quite nasty out there if you were out in it. Heavy snow, blowing snow almost horizontal on the beach, strong winds, whipping snow, biting icy wind, dark, low visibility. Updated photos:

You can't see the wind strength:

    Houses back there have vanished:

  6. Just heading out to get some photos.

I did like wise lol! Soon as that snow was bucketing down, where's me coat and snow boots, and off out the door!. :D Walked around for a bit in the heavy snow. Didn't stay out long, got completely coated in snow which was big snowflakes blowing sideways, camera screen went fuzzy from getting wet (it's not meant to be waterproof but has survived other storms before), batteries ran out as well taking pictures and video. Bone chilling cold to my fingers despite the fleece gloves on, took coat off when got back in loads of snow fell on the floor!. :cold: About an inch of snow so far I reckon with some moderate light snow now.
