    Yeah this whole event looks quite pathetic very washed down. The precipitation band looks very small, almost like a passing heavy shower compared to a system moving through. I wonder why there is so little precipitation

    Theres no point lol its nowcast every time, even BFTE the showers couldn't be pin pointed it was a now cast, always has, always will be.

    Severe cold downgraded to actual cold. I get what he means though, that nice -5 850 on the GEFS until the foreseable future will not happen, as we get closer milder blips will occure it always does.

    I’ve only been into weather for like 2 years but after about a year I’ve matured past the point of getting in a hissy fit when the model output changes from cold (which is extremely unusual for the UK) back to normal zonality, our default setup. If your constantly moaning about something you can’t change that’s just a bit sad...

    Could someone explain Theta-e temps? 850s are easy to underatand, (-10 very cold, +10 very mild etc) what temperature for theta-e is cold? Thanks.

    Can anyne explain how this happens? I get canada is close and all but thats not the reason... Why does the jetstream dip southwards there, I can only think of HP around alaska and a big trough consequently following southwards? Im a noob so thats probably wrong!
