Wonder if it's the driver caught up here over the limit on new years day?????
-
whats that you got heading towards you from the north?? more snow.....
Keep watching that feature and it looks to be heading more due south than anything now, or am I going mad?
-
Lots of white stuff falling from the sky, wind up as well.

I dunno, so I emailed them to ask why. I also mentioned did they realise pretty much northern mainland Scotland is cut-off to the outside world. I shall let you know IF they reply..
You flirting with the naughty step again Mondes

Dunblane Traffic cam looking nice now, might get the odd flake or 3

Model thread rumor has a polar low forming in the South???

Looking at the radar some showers appear to have survived the mountains, and east meets west may converge over MBY

Just started snowing lightly here
-
Many parts of the Forth and Clyde canal are frozen over. Saw this first hand earlier today.
Stretch from Bonnybridge to Allendale and beyond been frozen since before Christmas
-

Due to the weather or just New Year/drink/idiots???
New year been a factor this week but been on a climb for 2 weeks plus now.
Just been reading the salt issue in the Kingdom..... Hope it doesn't get too much worse, imagine the mate with no grit\salt!!!
-
Aye!! How could I forget that?? The drains will be frozen up too....this snow and cold lark sounds all very well until you start to think about the consequences. I have read that A&E admissions are way up on normal too, a lot of nasty breaks of hips, etc.
Snow and ice are gorgeous, but also silent menaces
I'm not being ungrateful for our lovely cold spell, but it does make you think??
I work at Glasgow Royal A&E and I can say that average daily registration is about 240 but is currently sitting at nearly 350!

That's coz we took your supply. Click me
I do like the last sentence though...... "any spare capacity"!!
Would be nice to see a few onces up here
-
Temp here approaching -6 and clear sky's
-
Not unless it stalls over us
And the chances of that happening are?????????????????? Only had a few inches since 23rd Dec in need of more now, 8" or so of ice getting a bit of a grind.
-
Maybe they aren't Scottish but they sure look content enough in the Forth Big Innes. Perhaps Iceland was a tad too warm for them so they've migrated since Christmas.
They aren't, not a Maccy D's wrapper in sight!!!
Top temp today was -1.8 currently -3.4 and dropping sharply.
-
Any chance some of these showers are going to head over this way? Not snowed for over 3 hours now.
-
Here's a question. When approx will mild-ish air creep in over this prolonged cool spell we're having already? I mean, when will a major thaw or just plain rain occur (to wash away the snow and pack ice?) I don't particularly want to see a warmer side things, but I wonder when an end to this might be in the off-ing?
*Don't shoot me - just curious!*
Not sure when the Atlantic is going to kick in, but I guess May before our pack ice is finally lost!!!
-
Sounds incredible to me. Just a shame there hasn't been more media coverage. Hearing reports, on here, of some amazing snow depths, in excess of a foot, was a real surprise. How does this cold spell rank amongst the rest for those of you that have done extremely well so far ?
Not seen anything like it, I'm a saffer so used to this being BBQ weather. Had a low of -12 , don't think we have broken 3 degrees since December 15th and had lying snow since 17th December, CURRENT DEPTH IS ABOUT 11" of which 8" is just solid ice.

Heavy shower ofsnow pellets here at the mo. Temp 2C.
Hi Mondy. You about just now? What's appening in Falkirk?
Heavy snow around Falkirk area small flakes with a strong east breeze. Football still on at the moment, might want to check out Central FM online and listen for updates
Just heard pitch inspection at 11am.
