Just gonna post this on the model thread for those starved of snow or don't realise a cold spell is still occuring
You still winding up the southerners??? Will post some later, just bgoing to help dig the car across the road out, they tried to go out and got 5 meters!!!
-
Still snowing here, got maybe 10" now and it's now broken my guttering at the front!!!
-
PPN shifted from west(rain) to east(snow) after fog beggered off
Crazy synopsis I'm sure...currently snowing 180deg opposite direction from earlier today, which brought HUGE flakes.
Have you had a look at the projected PPN on the new Met radar? Non stop till after 9am tomorrow!!!
-
Mondy, hold tight snow is coming, whiteout here, (top of high bonybridge) minor thaw being toped up nicely
-
Readily turning to snow here, nice big flakes.
-
Merry Christmas all, what a perfect day, cold crisp and white, although could have gone a little easier on the champs!!! Here's hoping for a top up tonight, temp down to -3 here now.
-
Damn - it's risen to -9c now. Must be snow on the way
Anyone for speed skating along the Forth and Clyde canal? <_<
-
And no warning for ice??
Reports now in for closed both ways with diversion as icicles a little bigger than they thought!
LS Given up looking at Mto warnings, or lack of, only use NW now.
-
Completely and utterly non-weather related. But there are going to be a few angry Xmas eve shoppers trying to get into Glasgow from the east today, since this is the pic of the westbound tunnel at Charing Cross. M 8 Closed...
Should only be closed for a wee while. Closing each side in turn to remove the icicles from the roof of the tunnel!!!!

I think Mondy posted a few days ago, but nice new Metoffice toy to play with. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/pws/invent/weathermap/
Just started snowing in Glasgow (Royal Infirmary area)
-
complete white out here, and not flakes but klumps!!! Looking at the radar, not much left I think till later hopefully.
-
Wow, rain, sleet, then blizzard here in Bonnybridge, just came down like a flash, now falling very nicely, good inch already.
-
I was horrified this morning to see everything covered in a strange white substance and panicked thinking that the World was under some kind of Alien Attack.
Thank God for the non-stop, 24 hour news reporting that it was snowing, otherwise I never would've realised. :o
According to the REAL Radio weather we are in for lots of sleet tomorrow!!!!!
-
Very very fine snow type stuff currently falling at the moment
-
fantastic day here in Glasgow 0c and snow everywhere even at Glasgow uni which is rare, will post pictures later on 6-7 inches of snow up on higher ground around my house.Although last nights snow fell on top of 3-4 inches hence total cover around about 6-7inches :)Cheers
Scott
You should see Cathedral Sq and the Necropolis, winter wonderland scene, snow still stuck to the side of the trees.
-
Egg.... Face springs to mind there, but take their warnings now with a pinch of salt, as last nights warning was for icy roads, and not the 4 inches of snow currently on the garden!!!
Snip from Met about Central and Tayside....
Tonight:
Continuing dry across the area tonight with some long clear spells. Another widespread and penetrating frost developing. Winds continuing to be light. Minimum temperature -12 °C
-
After a 5 minute rest bite it seems to have swung around and started heavy again.
-
-
Considering last night it was maybe hit and miss as to whether we got any, this is a big surprise, just been out back for a crafty and nearly 3 inches and still falling. Seems to be quite a nice easterly breeze as well so brrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
Wonder what my chances are of making it to the weeg tomorrow?
-
Been quite here for a few hours as well, so off for the ZZZZZ's and hope to wake to a nice covering.
-
Just speaking to in-law in Forres and they have got rain!!!
-
But looks like the activity north seems to be beefing up
-
Just looking at Metoffice rain radar and not looking all that good for Central areas at the moment. Although looking out the back towards the Ochil's it does look like more snow arriving.
-
Early days yet, most places still have another 6-12 hours of snow to come
Have seen on the radar that the showers are peping up north of here, but the Ochils or the Campsies will get most of it, but would like to be wrong.
