  1. Looking ahead, possibly a few rumbles into the south coast at the weekend. UKMO keen to move the low from the SW out more quickly, but could be storms Saturday night associated with that. Meanwhile the ECM stalls the low and keeps a risk going into Sunday evening.
  2. Our very own @Southern Storm has made both the BBC homepage and their news front page too! Congratulations dude!
  3. Eagle Eye well done Eagle. See you for the next one, which will affect both Kent and IOW a bit more (Positive thinking)
  4. Lu. Yeah, in the end I was right to say (about 24 hours ago) that I thought I'd be on the edge of things and likely just have the rain! Gotta say, this was a big 'win' for the UKV model. It was close to the mark with this on many runs. Even as far back as Saturday it showed this event affecting the southeast, whereas the Euro wanted to send it up the North Sea!
  5. Alderc 2.0 I got one rumble and some flashes, recorded 12mm of rain. Glad I went to sleep about half 11 in the end!
  6. Ramsgate cell showing just how quickly things can get going, seemingly out of nowhere!
  7. Thunderspotter I'm not an expert as such so please don't take this as gospel, but we can definitely disregard the Le Harve stuff. These ones are the most likely to reach our area, going by radar, UKV & steering flow
  8. Gotta say, the 18z UKV has nailed the development in the eastern channel we're seeing right now.
  9. Changed my mind about going to sleep. This new cluster has grabbed my attention! That steering flow should clip it nicely along the coast!
  10. Sam jackson88 Le Harve one has been steering westwards for a while. We need to be watching the cluster that's just been born in the eastern channel. They're heading in this direction and that's backed up by the steering flow chart @Mapantzposted a short while ago.
  11. Keep an eye on this developing cluster north of the MCS
  12. Gonna be many hours until this lot makes it over the channel. Going to go to sleep in a bit then set an alarm to check on things in the night!
  13. Clusters on the east appear to be travelling NNW, clusters to the west are more NW
  14. Coming into Netweather radar range now! Better for judging their true path than satellite.
  15. ECM rolling out now and it favours Kent, London, Berks/Oxon etc. Worth noting how it has failed to even pick up the current Belgium/Germany storms though!
  16. Polaris usually they're using old ECM data, their forecasts are not what they were in the Met Office days.
  17. Explosive development on satellite around Auxerre, with Kent's name on it based on current direction.
  18. Eagle Eye good stuff. IOW is about to pop out from underneath the warm front aswell. It'll be good just to know we're on the right side of that for developments
  19. *Stormforce~beka* definitely worth staying up 'til about 11 as we'll be into nowcasting territory and who knows, maybe there'll be a last minute model swing in our favour? Not game over just yet for us but looking less likely than it did yesterday...
  20. *Stormforce~beka* 1-2am by looks of it. Latest Arome is far from encouraging down here though...
  21. SilverWolf exactly! I've seen the word brought out on here prematurely, shortly before Blitz has then litten up! Obviously every situation is a bit different, but it can't be called a bust until it's actually appropriate to do so based on timings and severity on model runs and outlooks.
  22. I'm not a mod, but if people can refrain from using the word 'bust' (if actually applicable) until at least the scheduled time of the storms, that'd be great! Just a little pet peeve from previous recent events...
  23. Daniel_c150311 this one is more of an Algerian plume if you trace it back! Very unusual, don't recall it happening before but I dare say it has done before my living memory!
  24. LightningLover if you're a Cumulonimbus, that looks like a delicious 5 course dinner
