  1. Those that have it, enjoy! But please spare a thought for us in E.Suffolk, rain and more rain
  2. Get what you are saying but the warning is about the risk of impacts not necessarily saying it will happen. Met office will be aware of and using many models to work out the chances of anything happening, they've clearly seen a possibility which could result in impacts albeit low chances, hence their warning showing low probability of medium impacts. Don't think there's anything too confusing about that but each to their own
  3. The warning covers from 6pm to 9am and you've shown a chart for a one hour period. The warning also is quite clear in showing low chance of medium impacts.....
  4. Japan is very mountainous so their elevation above sea level helps, similar but to a greater degree really to parts of Wales, northern England and Scotland I guess
  5. With these 850's we'd need heavy ppn for evaporative cooling to do its bit and deliver snow. Problem to date in my view has been too slack a pattern, 850's have been marginal and what wind there has been has been from the nw quadrant creating a wishbone effect to ppn. IF we get a more Easterly component to the wind it'd open the door to north sea convection creating heavier and more wintry ppn, albeit the risk of marginality due to current sea temps. Not easy to get the white stuff at this stage of winter. All that said, Sunday into Monday is looking more interesting. If the small low develops as some models suggest then we may get both a more easterly wind coming off the continent alongside some oomph from the ppn. All to play for and it's the weekend to boot
  6. Beka, hope you are using the aged old "were you born in a barn" repost!!
  7. Log burner went on for the first time last night, about to put it on again as temp in house has hit the 16c mark. Hoping to not have to use the CH until middle of October if possible!
  8. Things beginning to bubble up now to my south east and south west, this shot was taken just now, can see the moon rapidly becoming obscured by developing cloud.
  9. Not sure exactly whats going on here in the desert but theres miniscule amounts of water falling from the sky!!!!
  10. Quite warm here in East Suffolk today, probably no need for a duvet overnight and then we go again..
  11. @staplehurst or anyone else for that matter... Any idea if there's a website that shows the all time temp records per weather station in the UK? I'm trying to find out what the all time max day time temp is for Wattisham, Suffolk. Thanks
  12. It certainly has https://www.accuweather.com/en/pt/porto/275317/weather-forecast/275317
  13. Just flown back from Porto, Portugal, having had 10 days with family. All I can say is if we end up getting the air thats currently over there then there will be big problems here. Today the humidity combined with the 35+c temps made it borderline unbearable. The last three nights I've not been able to sleep until around 4am as temps have been so high. With the current model runs predicting similar levels of heat incoming to the UK I think there should be some consideration as to the impacts on people and their health rather than willing for records to be broken.
