  1. If the West Midlands and the South West are declared drought-ridden, then the vast majority of the UK's population will be in drought, including parts of Yorkshire. This will in turn push up food prices, and food such as potatoes and carrots will be poor quality due to lack of rainfall.. this will have a negative impact on most of the country, especially England and Wales, so I think it's highly ignorant for people to make these kinds of comments that they 'don't care', after all, Yorkshire Water is guilty of bad water management too.

Why do people have to bicker about opinions? It does not matter in the slightest what opinions people have about the weather they would prefer to see. The weather will happen and not be influenced by opinions in the slightest!! Just get back to model reviews, which is what this thread is all about!

  2. That's completely flawed!. Firstly, if you compare a set of people from the 'Australian Diabetes, Obesity and Lifestyle survey' to a group of people who do not watch TV at all, I think you are going to find that there are many other contribing factors to their shorter lifespan............

Secondly, I spend way more time sitting down in my job than I do watching TV. If that were the case, then I can expect to die pretty soon!!!!!

If people watch TV and also exercise properly in a balanced way, then the act of watching TV will not affect you at all.

Statistics................you can show anythign you want if you manipulate them enough!!

  3. Sat out last night a watched for a few hours with the whole family and our neighbours over a few beers! Saw loads of really bright ones, some with tails stretching halfway accross the sky. It was the most impressive showing I've seen to date. Apart from a few short spells we had almost totally clear skys.

  4. Starting to get heavier again here in Winterbourne. Had a covering on the car and the grass but nothing on pavements and roads yet. The way it is snowing now though is going to start settling on other surfaces.

I love the way the precip is shown as rain here!! Sadly, looking at the radar there is a big hole in the precipitation coming towards Bristol now.

Wow, really big flakes now!! Shame it can't last.

  5. I saw Richard Angwyn play the potential snow down big style in the Lunchtime weather. The guy on National weather was all excitable about it but said 'remember this is only a forcast and you never ever be certain about this'!!! When Richard came on afterwards he started off by saying 'don't expect me to be excited like ??? (not sure of the name), I don't do excitable'. Very amusing, it was.

He just said it was most likely to be rain in our region. We will see!

  6. I hope this works. A few pics as i left my house at 07:45 this morning on the 10 minute walk to work

Nice pics of the Green and the cut through the chuchyard to Parkway. I used to live on North Road until we moved to Winterbourne last December. They never grit that road and it gets quite busy too. I've seen a few cars lose it approaching the green down that slight incline. One of my boy's still goes to St Michael's school so I was down there myself an hour afterwards!

  7. Still snowing here in Winterbourne although quite light now. I almost didn't get my car off the drive this morning as I stupidly left it facing down the hill. Reverse gear is no fun on snow!! Luckily my two boys helped push me up the incline. Now i've cleared the drive again!!! Looked to me like most of the snow fell in the last few hours of the early morning. I'm surprised it is still snowing and would be intersted to hear from people in the areas to the south that are showing as rain in Netweather radar as some of you are saying it is still snow!

  8. If anyone's got access to decent radar, let us know what's happening - anymore heavy stuff coming up? No need to post image, in case you get into trouble!

I almost signed up to NW radar at end of Nov when the offer was on - wish i had now!doh.gif

No, just took a look and there isn't any heavy snow in sight now but plenty of the stuff that is currently falling so can't complain really! Certainly got a couple of inches here soo it will be interesting to see what the morning brings.
