I was just talking about this with a friend, but it’s not just the BBC have a look!!!

    Could contain:

Maybe it’s a much delayed Y2K bug? Lol.

let’s hope there’s not too many automated workflows keyed into this data - wouldn’t be great if the gritters were out in Newcastle, or if loads of central heating systems switch on   (I jest obviously)

...we are  still under the eastern edge of it here ...

....great pics btw...just want to have a storm tomorrow!...

Incredible how different that is to the forecasts maps they had on bbc news earlier, which basically had a scattering of loads of little showers all over the place.

A rip tide, or riptide, is a strong offshore current that is caused by the tide pulling water through an inlet along a barrier beach, at a lagoon or inland marina where tide water flows steadily out to sea during ebb tide. It is a strong tidal flow of water within estuaries and other enclosed tidal areas.

The correct term is actually rip current, which is: A rip current is a strong flow of water running from a beach back to the open ocean, sea, or lake.

Given the nature of the beach just there, I still challenge this suggestion, as Bmth beach as most people know has a very slight slope on it, when the tide goes out, you can walk out quite some way. However there is a deep area around the pier, specifically for the pleasure boats use.

Anyway, it's still sad and the Corners cause of death as drowning, throws no more light on the matter, which now opens in September, so it'll be some months before any true cause is possibly known.

Wasn't there a similar rip current near the pier a couple of years ago? I seem to recall 15 people or more had to be rescued. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned in any of the recent press.

The group were seen by lifeguards being pulled out to sea in a powerful rip current on Monday.

    Funny how it's different!

I'm on day 5. What day are you on? Going to try and plant up some Strawberries today and see if I can take a 5 minute walk out the house. I've been trapped in the house for 8 days now due to everyone ill and i'm going stir crazy

5 also. Feeling good this morning. Good excuse to laze about in the garden and avoid all the jobs however, so I’ll keep up the cough for a bit 😂

That's exactly the time I sat out too for 5 minutes!

Awww bless you gosh 3rd time! How is it worse this time? What's your symptoms? Todays delight has been more diahhrea and exhaustion mainly. Got up and got dressed - tired me out so had a rest and some food. Then got up and loaded dishwasher and put on, tidied kitchen and brought in the laundry. Then that was me dead. I was pulling down the washing with my legs aching and stomach cramping and I knew I had over done it so came and laid down for an hour before I had to get up again to make kids tea! Another rest then get them off to bed ... Sigh! No rest for mummas even when ill 😞

First time was all about fever, stomach problems (sympathy for you there - it lasted for days), nothing respiratory at all. Truly appalling.

    Second time, a light cold.

this time it’s all about terrible throat and cough.

Bizarre to thing it’s even the same thing- completely different each time.

feeling well enough to get out for a walk today - hope you’re soon better

Ahhh cute little cloud. We don't mind a few fluffy wuffy puffys! 🙂

Covid is still messing with me. My bowels haven't been happy today and yesterday. Fever and aching gone but slight headache, tiredness and diahhrea still here. Oh and the cough and snotty nose! ... Most delightful! ...

    Where you rushing around to?

I’ve got covid for the third time at the mo. Worse than last time, but nowhere near when I hallucinated my way through the euros back in.the day.

Managed to get some late sun this evening - unreal how strong it felt even at 5:00pm!

Are used to work in test Valley live just off Millbrook Road and the difference in the weather was phenomenal.

I remember us working on Romsey estate and it started snowing so heavy and settling everyone got sent home and yet when I got back down the M27 it was just raining onto Millbrook Road.

Yeh, spot on. More than once it’s been snow from the Dukes Head* north and rain south of it. It’s my own version of the M4.

*(now the Duke on the Test, don’t you know, la de DAH, £7 a pint)

  8. You can forget your models. All you need to know is I’m flying out of Heathrow on 3rd feb, and every other time* in the last 25 years I’ve tried to get away in the winter to somewhere warm, there’s been some sort of ridiculous blizzard and I’ve missed a connection.

*ok, so 3 times. But once we got bumped out of the de-icer queue by Concorde, so there’s that.
