Guys I legitimately just saw a meteor in my back garden! Sorry to go off track but wow!

Think we have to accept that we just don't know everything about how our atmosphere works. Meteorologists don't let alone us amateurs. As I said before, major models missed a whole cat 5 hurricane in Mexico just last month. Mother nature has her mysterious ways

Seems those seasonal forecasts from some months back may have been on to something

Has there ever been such x model support that has failed?

I think the main issue this evening is the uppers have modified slightly higher. Enough to mean rain/sleet rather than snow. Perhaps the high sea temperatures are a factor! Plenty time for upgrades, we need a cleaner feed and less messy shortwaves
There always seems to be some stupid shortwave messing things up for us ugh

Nope, that's what concerns me.
If this occurs it flies in the face of the teleconnections and any mid term forecasts that I have seen.
Well we did just witness a complete miss of a catastrophic cat 5 hurricane last month. We clearly have some way to go lol

The upcoming colder period should kill off the weeds that continue to thrive, Ive seen dandelion flowers reappear recently and flies swarming about.. many late flowering summer plants still in full bloom, and spring bulbs appearing. Very much the same thing happened last year and was kicked into touch during early-mid Dec.
Last December killed a few of my garden plants

The trough that moves over us this coming weekend no longer looks like it might subsequently exit in a way that gives us a northerly flow afterwards.
Typical stuff lol

Sounds like my experience when I was living in Kent (Sittingbourne and Rochester) in December 2010. Wading through waist high snow on the way to the train station in temperatures well below freezing.
Yes it was really quite remarkable wasn't it?

Thanks so much! I'm 18 so don't have much memory with it, as I was likely 4/5 at that time!
Think if we had another winter like that, everyone on here would be absolutely mental!!
I'm 26 and remember 09/10 very well. The roads were like ice rinks, I remember slipping and sliding with my mum and sisters. The ice was so thick, the snow was glistening with rainbow colours as it was so frozen solid. Definitely the best winter in recent times

ECM built a huge scandi block and then sinks it back south east lol

If the southerly comes off, do you think that it could quickly switch around to an easterly?

Why won't the northern blocking dissipate, it's been there since spring ugh

Ah man, we are so unlucky! If I could personally drag the jet stream back up North, I'd do so in a heartbeat lol.
I truly hate this country's climate sometimes ugh

It doesn't have to be 30c everyday . 23-27 with sunshine is perfectly fine. We do not want Autumn weather in the middle of summer. Some of us have SAD and would rather not experience it year round
