I may be going insane but I swear I just heard two or three rumbles coming from sea direction in bexhill. Upset the gulls. Going down to look and photograph

It’s odd, gentle rain but still flaming muggy, I breathe and I melt. I’m going to be confused as I’m heading to soton for a few days so will have to remember to pay attention to different parts of the charts

Cloud cover all day, sea mist moving in with a cool breeze, when the breeze ain’t blowing it’s too sticky to even wear skin.
edit: temp 23, dew point 17, humidity 76, pressure rising

Here in East Sussex it’s cloud cover, sea mist rolling in with a lovely cool breeze but when there isn’t a breeze it’s too sticky to even wear skin

Risking sleeping for a couple of hours. If I’m not woken by thunder I’ll be woken by 2am alarm set by keen daughter

Looked in on the Brighton web cam. One flash of lightning in the distance and 20 cars going past.
Are you sure there's much happening down there, tomp456? Usually I can see the flashes from Brighton in the upper atmosphere here in Reigate!
Haha I just did the same thing

Audible thunder again from that stuff near Brighton, as well as increasingly frequent flashes!
Wishing I lived higher up my block or actually on the seafront

Glad I chose to stick around the beach as the lightening is more frequent now in the distance. Some nice CG (more-so Cloud to water lol) and a booming rumbles of thunder just as I type this.
Round two..wonder where it’ll hit

Still got the odd close rumble and flash down here in bexhill, still raining heavily, most activity seems to be to the NE as can see it lighting up the skies that way.

I have to say. I can finally see flashes!
Looks like it’s picked up a lot since being here, though it’s still going here all be it a bit less flashy and noisy and a lot more rainy

lightning has started in the distance and can hear distance rumbling so expecting to see and hear more activity in a short amount of time
If it’s this one you will. It moved in quick. But passed quite quick. Still raining heavily and getting pink lightening and rumbles every few minutes though

I've been looking at the Eastbourne webcam - not exactly lighting up the skies, is it?
It was in Bexhill. Almost all the lightening has been pink or orange. Not massively frequent but impressive

Just started raining in Ashford. Lights keep flickering for some reason. More likely a fault than some impending storm so no doubt I’ll be left without any power soon.
There’s a nice storm in bexhill right now
