  1. mike57 I know Bempton well. The in-laws have a caravan at Flamborough and we regularly make the walk up the coast. Spent a lot of time in the White Horse.
  2. Met Office have now issued a yellow warning for snow for Thursday. Anyone else think it's a bit weird that they are being so bullish when the temps are looking so marginal for snow?
  3. Some heavier bands just crossing the Irish Sea. Will it be intense enough to make it to Sheffield/Rotherham though?
  4. Wake up everyone! He's been, he's been! Happy @Scott Ingham Day! What did everyone get?
  5. Got one of these I can put up for you.
  6. @Scott Ingham Some nice bands of organised showers heading our way from the South West. You think it will be a boon for us in Rotherham tonight?
  7. Also couldn't resist going for a walk in the snow just now. It's really tipping it down now in Rotherham. If we could get a few hours of this overnight we should have a good few inches by morning.
  8. Same here in Kimberworth. I've got a dusting. Not going to get anything substantial at this rate.
  9. Bit of lamppost watching here in Rotherham 104ASL. Tipping it down now and starting to settle.
  10. I have a bad feeling about this correcting further south over the course of the day tomorrow. I hope I'm wrong but we just don't seem to have been able to catch much of a break this winter.
  11. Looking like some pretty organised showers there. Met Office pretty bullish this morning that some might make it over the peaks and give us a dusting. Not so much now though. Surely with how organised they're looking, some will make it over...?
  12. Watching the radar, the track doesn't look great for us. Perhaps more experienced eyes would disagree?
  13. My mental health really can't cope with all the model flip-flopping. I'm going to sulk in the shed. I'll come back with either the sledge or the BBQ. If someone could let me know which is the better option please...answers on a postcard.
  14. I've been lurking in here for a few years and occasionally post in the local thread. But I have to say that over the last week, this thread has seen more drama than EastEnders on Christmas Day. My knowledge and understanding of modelling is limited but I can thank people in this thread for most of what I have learned meteorologically. My completely novice view is that the patterns are so unusual at the moment that most of the models are really struggling to predict what is coming next. There are signs of a breakdown at the weekend but it's still too early to say which part of the country will see what. Likewise for next week's potential snow events. Very much getting the feeling that we are going to have to wait til the 16th until we have a clearer picture. Like any Science, the more experimental data you have, the stronger the conclusions. In my time on here, I don't think the phrase "more runs needed" has ever been more appropriate. Thanks to all for your continued insightfulness. #keepchasing
  15. I wonder if the lightness of the snow combined with the fog is making it difficult for the radar to pick it up?
