John I use a program called Fastats Mach5 Analyzer, which is very good for seeing exactly how many hits, visits etc you get. It breaks it down so you can see where people are accessing your site from, which search engines they are using and what search phrase they used, how long they are spending on the site, which pages they look at etc. It helps work out which parts of the site are the most popular or least accessed - not that I have much time to dwell on the stats. but it is useful to know for when I update the site. I am getting an average of 200+ visitors a day. At the moment my hit counter is set to only record unique visitors on a daily basis (it is almost up to 20,000 after three years), but if people access the site other than via the home page it doesn't record them. So the counter misses quite a few. I also have a problem with the frames design of the site. Often people get trapped on the site because not all the frames load. I have had to add pop-up boxes which are triggered in such instances and redirect people to the home page. Not ideal, as they don't get to visit the page they really want to see. So I am ditching the frames and going ASP, and the hits counter will work for every page. I am also getting my guestbook reworked so that messages will only get posted once I have approved them. At the moment I have a list of banned words which will not allow messages to be posted if people use them, and I also get an email every time someone posts a message. But I am getting so much spam that I am having to add at least hlf a dozen words or phrases every day. Let me know if you want more info on Mach5 Analyzer. I can't remember the exact cost, but I think the regular program is about £50 and the all-singing-and-dancing M5 Gold is double that. Cheers Peter
