  1. Back to reality today. 17c, full clag, and a chilly breeze. Coats and jackets abound in city. Today was originally looking to be semi-decent with 19c and quite sunny by around 1pm or so but that's been completely scrapped now. Wednesday probably the only decent day this week for warmth and sun. Pretty poor.
  2. The cool, showeryness of this week looks to be downgraded somewhat now, thankfully, with only Tuesday and Thursday being the properly unpleasant days. As of yet, next weekend also looks quite dire but indeed as we all know, it's too far out to be guaranteed on those conditions...
  3. lassie23 We post predominantly in a thread called "moans, ramps and banter" for a reason
  4. danm my reaction is purely This warm, sunny and dry Sunday evening is just ideal for me.
  5. LetItSnow! That's very interesting. Well, you're in the right country if you enjoy rain. Thunderstorms, not so much unfortunately. Thing is, I actually don't dislike rain inherently. I had a massive rain storm at the end of my holiday in the Slovenian Alps last year and it was really cool, and impressive. Last about 5/6 hours then things cleared again. Similarly when I was in Cuba, it rained nearly daily but it was always a sort of tropical storm of a few hours long, then back out came the sun. The rain was actually nice as it cleared the humidity. Issue with the UK is that we get days upon days of drizzly piddly stuff that isn't really interesting or cool or impressive, and often barely feels like rain, but nevertheless gets you soaked if you're out and about so it makes for zero use-ability weather-wise. And humidity-wise, rain here increases the humidity usually, instead of clearing it. So yeah, the impact that our rainy conditions have on my outdoors plans are my biggest gripe, and the monotonous nature of it. It's honestly quite rare for us to have multiple days of unbroken sunny, dry weather like the last 5 or so days in London, so for me, it's the opposite of tiresome/boring. It's a welcome change from the default pattern of overcast and 10-15c that dominates the majority of the year.
  6. Absolute cracker of a weekend. Things are buzzing and the joyousness of life is abundant across the faces and bodies of everyone out and about! Things are very busy, cafes, pubs, restaurants, parks booming...as it should be. Glad they are getting business after a long, dismal and depressing winter and early Spring. What a stroke of luck to get the peak of this HP fall over a Fri-Sun too. We usually get the other way around! I'm at Beckenham park this afternoon, south London. Lovely.
  7. SunSean if able, maybe get the c2c a bit more westward haha. Sit in one of the parks in London or whatnot. Zero cloud whatsoever in Upminster where I am.
  8. SakuraOwl Sorry to hear that you're struggling. I imagine it's frustrating for those who don't like warm weather to be having warmer-than-average conditions outside of summer. h This isn't particularly unusual for May, it's not what I'd call a "summer heatwave" (that would be anything 27/28c+ for 3 or more days). I'd be more shocked if we had an entire May that *didn't* see a 23/24c (in London at least). It's definitely a good few degrees C above average, but on the flipside we just came off the back of a run of a good few degrees C below average at the start of the month (and in late April too). It all balances out tbh. It was an awful Winter and early-mid Spring for anyone who likes either warmth or cold unfortunately. Nothing but mild, dull, and wet for the vast majority of the time.
  9. *Stormforce~beka* 2 days in June, 3 days in July, 1 day in August and 2 whole weeks in Sept! Jokes aside, its getting progressively hazier here in London too, still blue-ish but definitely getting less clear as the day goes on
  10. Alderc 2.0 I don't think 25c in London. I think 24c max, particularly as there's a definite increase of haze coming in which didn't happen yesterday - which i imagine will subdue the temps a tad.
  11. Azazel More or less the same as me. I get progressively groggier and just generally 'unhealthy' feeling from Oct to April but the degree to that feeling is predominantly based on sunshine. Cold I'm fine with. The last 7/8 months have been particularly dull and grim so it hit harder than usual. So now it's like someone has flipped a switch! Lights, on!
  12. Morning campers. Awoke like a bolt this morning, zero coffee needed to rid myself of the sluggishness. Only been about 3/4 warm, sunny days and it's already working wonders on my energy-levels and general feeling of wellbeing after such a grey, wet and gloomy period. Incredibly how healing the sun really is, it's no wonder why it was universally worshiped as the main 'god' in pretty much every pre-modern culture. Blue this morning is vivid. Love it.
  13. Azazel One of the first evenings this year or probably the first, where you can be outside l comfortably in just a t-shirt or thin layer. It's got that residual warmth that I usually associate with July/ August. Very decent indeed
  14. danm Close but no cigar. Plenty warm enough for me, few clouds bubbling this afternoon but nothing to complain about really. Tomorrow should reach 24c by the looks of it. Wade I am more a Madri or Pravha man myself. I like a Czech Pilsner. Although a German wheat beer in the sun too...yes please.
  15. SunSean Been on the lunchtime Aperol Spritzes mate?
  16. danm Hmm, maybe. I think a 23c is more likely considering we're now at 2pm and its 22c.
  17. Turning out to be an absolute cracker of a week here in London. Solid temps and warmth for early May. Plenty of time for 25c+ as the month progresses and we head out of Spring. Main thing for me right now is sunshine hours, light levels and dryness - all of which this week is delivering in spades.
  18. Alderc 2.0 real impressive 'high' for your area...big shame. Wonder why? Was it always only meant to be 15-17c or so in your area? Or was it downgraded? Those are literally just smack bang average May day-max temps lol
  19. *Stormforce~beka* No proper cloud here in London - its mostly spotless now! There was a sea fog/clag early AM but it cleared by about 10ish.
  20. *Stormforce~beka* It's not 'only the weather' though, because it's much more than mere stats and figures from a perspective of lived reality. After a long, dull and wet winter and early-mid Spring, warm and sunny weather objectively improves the moods and minds of the vast majority. Especially if one has S.A.D, it's mentally nigh-impossible to simply dismiss constantly dull conditions with a "it's just the weather!" throw-away. Yeah it doesn't look awful where you are but its certainly not clear...and a lack of basically any clear/fully sunny days since the cold spell in Jan for you, is woeful. No sugar-coating it. Well, I'm happy to arrange a NetWeather pub meet in sunny London for you and others stuck in Clagshire / Cloudsex / Greyfolk / Dullset (I'm not a serial killer, promise).
  21. stainesbloke stainesbloke Indeed. A rare period where the UK (or at least parts of it) are outclassing large parts of central/mainland in Europe in terms of sunshine and warmth.
  22. *Stormforce~beka* Come to London, people are literally sunbathing in the park near my office!
  23. danm I know precisely where that is. Imagined if we passed eachother unknowingly
  24. Popping today in city. Obligatory lunch pils. Enjoy!
