  1. Northwest NI That's alot better than pretty much all of England, Wales and Scotland! So congrats
  2. Getting better out there. Clearing up earlier than predicted.
  3. SunnyG Indeed. Should be better by mid afternoon, but yeah, 48 hours max of clearish weather at a time is about as much as we manage in the era of Spring 2024
  4. Terminal Moraine Unsurprising. I think London scraped by with about 70% of average sunshine in the end but a big part of that is as a result of these last 2 days which recorded 10 hours of sun. A very dull month all around, like most of the months in the last 12, lol (aside from Sept and June 2023 ofc).
  5. Today now looking to end up a bit better than forecast in my area. Cloud (should be) clearing later on for about 18c the high.
  6. Alderc 2.0 anything that far out is crystal ball stuff tbh. It'll probably change numerous times between now and then. The forecast for the BH Sat and Sunday in my area has changed from 18/19c and sunny to 15c and rainy and now back up to 18c and mostly sunny again, all in the space of the last 24 hours
  7. *Stormforce~beka* another day in Cloudshester, Cloudshire eh
  8. Summer8906 Very much the case out there, especially in Alberta and BC. When I visited Calgary and the rocky mountains a few years back, I was checking the weather closely in the few weeks before we arrived there. In May it went from 30c, to snowing, back to 30c again. During my 2 weeks there it was a mix hail, some snow at elevation, and then solid days of sunny and 20-30c (this was in June). Its a mix but it quickly flips back to pleasant conditions again. I'd honestly rather have that than the UK's situation wherein we get stuck in the same 10-15c and mostly cloudy pattern for literally weeks (or months) on end.
  9. danm there was no zoom! An entire blanket appeared BUT has actually dispersed since into smaller clouds lol I have pstd from one big cloud rolling in and taking up the sky SunSean Cute doggo! And a rare London photo from you
  10. Aaaaaand here it comes! Don't fret though, the sun will re-emerge at 5-7pm as per usual
  11. SunSean business as usual (in this context, meaning grey/overcast weather)
  12. SunSean Yeah very regional. Progressively cloudier as the day goes on here in London, which is the opposite of yesterday which actually cleared as the day went on and became full clear with just a few wisps by mid to late afternoon. Back to BAU tomorrow and Thursday.
  13. Wade Days of 40c+ is incredibly hot, and I say that as someone who can tolerate heat well. I've experienced it a few times - Dubai, Egypt, and Seville. Luckily I was on holiday for all of those, in shorts and a linen shirt or just in swimming trunks by the pool/beach sipping on an ice-cold beer. That's quite a different context from having to live and work in such heat. Sun Chaser shame we cannot simply all enjoy decent conditions together. If the west gets lucky, the east suffers, if we fare better, then the west gets the dross.
  14. A few clouds coming in elsewhere but looking mostly good still
  15. Weather Enthusiast91 Indeed! But we take what we can get in this country lol
  16. SunSean Today and yesterday are a very fine couple of spring days here. Just a shame it didn't fall over the weekend and instead, when everyone is working. markyo no moans from me today (a rarity )
  17. danm had it on my phone apps as of yesterday and the day before. Although as we know those apps aren't the most reliable
  18. *Stormforce~beka* Yes I would not be shocked if the predicted sunny settled spell gets pushed back to another "10 days away" but I'm speaking - however foolishly - of the forecasts as they stand lol
  19. Real shame about the downgrades as this week progresses. Tomorrow looking the only decent day now, and mostly dross from Wednesday onwards. Fri-Sun gone from 18-20c and mostly dry and sunny to 15/16c and predominantly cloudy with showers. Not surprised, but disappointing nonetheless especially as the primary bulk of the unsettled spell looks like it's going to land smack-bang during the peak of the BH weekend, and then soon as everyone is back to work the following week, the warm, sunny, dry weather (which was originally forecasted to be *on* the weekend) will land. Classic.
  20. midlandsun It is quite baffling how it can change so drastically in such a short span of time. Gone from 19c and mostly sunny to 15c and showers in my area, as of today. Who knows, might be different again tomorrow.
  21. danm Also a prime example as to the sun strength at this time of year. Only 16c but plenty warm when the sun is on you, even now at 6pm
  22. B87 Yeah it depends on one's personal idea of the terms tbh. My own grading mentally is a bit more complex, but admittedly I obsess over cloud, lol: - Fully clear (spotless sky) - Just a few wisps (as per above aside from the odd wispy, thin hazy cloud and / or obstructions by jet-fuel streams) - Mostly sunny (fluffy clouds here and there, some small gaps without sun as clouds pass over lasting no more than 15 mins. Cloud comprises no more than approx 25% of the sky) - Partly sunny (as per above but cloud progresses to up to approx 50% of the sky. Gaps without sun may last up to half an hour) - Mostly cloudy (cloudy cover ranges 50-75%, prolonged gaps without sun, but sun spells still present during the day on and off). - Predominantly cloudy (a day with cloud as the predominant feature and breaks in the cloud few and far between. 5-10% sunshine only). - Fully overcast (unbreaking blanket sheet of grey).
