    I know we’re not as bad as the south, but it was 28c today here in Cambuslang, and possibly hotter tomorrow and Thursday, it was supposed to break down at the weekend but now it’s not, not here at least, when will this all end? Oh, roll on autumn!

    Where I lived, which was Lanarkshire in Scotland,, I seem to remember summer 1986 as being dry and warm to hot, as well as 1983 and 84. 88 and 89 were dull here. 1990 was a scorcher!
