  1. Sorry but being honest here, I just can't imagine a system coming up from the south producing settling snow for low lying areas of our region. And it may not even reach us in the first place. I'd be much more confident if it was coming in from the north west like in January. Can't remember the last time a system like this coming Thursday produced the goods for our region. GFS and ECM seem adamant that it will. We can only wait and see this one. I think most of us will have to rely on evaporate cooling.
  2. Christ, that felt like a hurricane had just moved through. What an experience of a squall line and so random.
  3. UKV and Icon I'm giving most credit to, in terms of precision and how early both models were signalling it.
  4. Looks like we have another heavy burst of ppn approaching us. I suspect this one will be the last of the snow (inland). Already sleet at the coast.
  5. I just want to say, how happy I am for all in this group. All the time we spend show chasing and talking about it, this morning means the most to us. I appreciate that some of us (not all unfortunately) have got what we deserve. Oh, and we are the most respectful when it comes to the Mod discussion as we don't post about our region there unlike a lot of the southerners. Keep up the great work everyone.
  6. I doubt it mate. I would happily take a straight northerly wind right now, get rid of the ppn and keep the lying snow with cold air in place.
  7. with the brutally cold temps that are forecast tonight and in coming days, what a shame we have a little mild sector creeping into the region this afternoon. could have been a full 5th Jan 2010 event if it wasn't for that.
  8. Waiting for the garage to open at 6 so I can take a walk in the snow to get some milk to make a hot chocolate. We’ve had more than we had last winter anyway so that’s positive.
  9. Lovely to have a covering of the white stuff, still snowing and more to come. I guess this is the difference between it snowing in mid January rather than early December when it was marginal and a let down for the region. don’t think I’ll get my hopes up for future early December cold blasts.
  10. GFS 18z for 6am. Nice to have all models now showing the purples for our region in the same timezone. Here we go folks. Now is our time
  11. I noticed this when I came out of work. Does you know why? Normally my car is frozen over at -2 and its been in shade all day and it wasn't frozen. Is this a good sign for moisture/ snow in the air?
