Sorry but being honest here, I just can't imagine a system coming up from the south producing settling snow for low lying areas of our region. And it may not even reach us in the first place. I'd be much more confident if it was coming in from the north west like in January. Can't remember the last time a system like this coming Thursday produced the goods for our region. GFS and ECM seem adamant that it will. We can only wait and see this one. I think most of us will have to rely on evaporate cooling.

I just want to say, how happy I am for all in this group. All the time we spend show chasing and talking about it, this morning means the most to us. I appreciate that some of us (not all unfortunately) have got what we deserve. Oh, and we are the most respectful when it comes to the Mod discussion as we don't post about our region there unlike a lot of the southerners. Keep up the great work everyone.

Thanks for this! Christ, she hadn't much of an idea and neither did the BBC. This forecast is so generic, she keeps mentioning heavy snow sweeping southwards but the map behind her showing a rather different picture. She was neither precise with locations either, and no mention of any schools being closed and the brutal temperatures that followed. We were snowed in by 10am and I am low lying Lancs. Are we any further on in today's forecasting that's the main question I think?
