  1. northwestsnow Is there an abbreviation list somewhere for things like CC and AGW? I know some things but not others...learning here. Thanks
  2. Let's hope the ECM wins out here. Less rain, and pleasant. GFS is awful for rain and muck. ECM still looking as though something can come of heights to our North.
  3. ECM , UKMO and GEM looking very different to GFS this evening. I know which I prefer....BFTE anybody?
  4. Lukesluckybunch I feel there's a chance around this time, if only it can hold and build...
  5. blizzard81 Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but is there a list of times for different models to emerge from Meteociel and Wetterzentral. I would be interested in seeing EC 06z Control but have no idea where to look for it or what time. Thanks
  6. Chesil View GFS and UKMO actually has this setup at a similar time.....it's the progression from here we need to hope for good things for.
  7. At 228 hrs the GFS sends cold westwards into mainland Europe. Misses UK of course. We meanwhile bathe in very mild SW winds....you couldn't make it up really.
  8. Was hoping that the signals for the weekend and next week of blocking over Scandi or to the NW, or even a UK high were tangible. Now it seems we are back to square one with Atlantic flow, mild and mucky. The Iberian heights are still there to the South. What a let down, time to throw in the towel on this winter now. Hope for a dry and warm spring, but I guess it will be cold and dull.....
  9. For the first stage, there seems to be very marginal uppers even if the low goes more South. There are some warm uppers all over the near continent which the lows could suck over us.... I feel there needs to be much more cold uppers behind the low else we could mostly be in for a slushy mess with temps around the 5 c mark. People in the North relatively better off. Maybe the second stage can deliver.
  10. I simply don't understand people on here that seem to want a two day snow and slush fest and ignore the mild mush that follows....instead of a nice couple of weeks of deep cold and all the snow chances that would bring.
