  1. Meteorologist Mika Rantanen said: "Summer will extend 30 days by 2050 in Finland (and all of Northern Europe in general). Meanwhile winters overall get more shorter that every 3 years there won't even be winter. Here are some maps, especially Western side will be warm.
  2. B87 What I meant, it's actually wet over there. Maybe there will only be a total of a month a year when days in one year are actually dry.
  3. I feel bad for you. In the UK you expect wet all the time. There are rare occasions where you're like "Finally, there will be dry weather for a week".
  4. In my area there's rain and 3 degrees. It's not as bad where you have around 15 degrees. That's actually pretty good. Not hot but not cold either.
  5. Rain in Southern Finland right now. Temperatures around 3 degrees so it's not feeling pleasant. Snow will however melt quickly. Currently only 5 cm of snow left. I really hope there won't be another winter situation this spring. However next week will look promising anyway with temperatures nearly 20 degrees
  6. Update: 20 degrees is now forecasted for next Wednesday so it's delayed yet another day. Typical...
  7. AderynCoch Winters used to be longer. Even when it's possible to see them lasting long even now, averagely winters are getting shorter.
  8. The melting already starts tomorrow with rain. Forecast models say that 20 degrees could happen next Tuesday.
  9. SunnyG Yeah, 20 degrees is possible for next week. So weird, I've never seen a situation that after snow it already feels like Summer. It's only taking a week until we can wear t-shirts and shorts.
  10. I don't think I've ever seen something like this: 30cm of snow in Finland but there could already be 20 degrees next week as warmer air pushes in from the South. Climate is really quickly make changes to the weather in such a short period of time. Especially since we're between Atlantic and Continental. There have always been quick changes but these differences will become much more quicker in short amount of time now.
  11. At least you don't get snow so late. 30 cm snow this late is just insane for Southern Finland. This isn't Lapland.
  12. According to the article, mild continues? Yes for this weekend but it will actually get cold next week. However even with cold air, temperatures during the day in the South will have freeze free temperatures due to warming sun for this time of the year.
  13. It's not that great in my country either. Sure, snow helps for a couple of months a year but overall the entire weather for the most part of the year is cloudy and it's depressing to look at. You can expect more sunny weather in Spain though. However it's not as rainy as it is in the UK. There's at least that.
  14. Currently 17.8 degrees in my house with 0.5 degrees outside. It's actually very comfortable. Trying to save money as heating was on for a few months. Looks like for the next few weeks I don't have to put heating back on since -10 temps outside is unlikely right now so I hope I can make it through without heating until next December.
  15. A little over 36 degrees in 2010, believe it or not, in Finland. I haven't traveled much outside my country. I only visit Baltics and Nordic countries.
