@MetwatchI really hope something from the west or south comes in... This dry air has been nothing but grim. So much middle level moisture just causing gloom and absolutely shocking temperatures for late April. Monday was like January, except it got dark at 9pm.

I put washing out with a 2 hour dry window of weather, especially when it's windy. Wind dries washing quicker than sun

Thunders most phones have a time lapse function, also if you're willing to leave your phone you can set up a record and speed it up in various apps online. I can't remember the last app I used but can search if needs be?

Metwatch sunshine hour totals? I don't think it's been too overcast? I could be wrong and maybe I'm searching for the silver lining.

BruenSryan let's hope this is a new trend setter with a sunnier summer not overly fussed about temperature as long as nighttime mins are warmer than average

al78 I don't doubt that, however the frost didn't penetrate that deep. At least in my local area(~9) was reached. See attached image for 10cm below bare soil

Summer8906 going on models track record in the last 2 years... It's probably more accurate to fire blanks at a bullseye, at least after day 4.

Norrance the top 2cm should be loose enough anyway. Regardless I'm not too bothered either way, I want frost for the pest and disease pressure to diminish.

Norrance it is good at killing disease and possibly some of the pests pressure. Worms break the soil when they dive for warmth, possibly as a result of the frost. Skeptical of the frost doing much to directly to the soil. In the US it's a different story, frost line there is a good 30+cm in a lot of places.

Metwatch dry needed more than wet, a frost would only affect top 2cm of soil, unless in Cairngorms. Tell me a farmer that works less than 2cm and I'll tip my hat.
