  1. hi this is my first post after a year of watching forum so be gentle with me x

i live in wednesbury which is just off jct 9 of m6.

its gone very cloudy but weve had light rain which has washed away the 1cm we had this morning.

that is the only bit of snow weve had in the whole winter so far!!

welcome to the mad house baz :whistling:

  2. There's not really that much snow here at low levels either, only around a cm or two and it's just sleety rain now.

I've just been up to the top of the hills around us and there is easily a foot of snow up there already with blizzard like conditions, It will be really interesting to see how much snow there is over the tops by tomorrow afternoon! cold.gif

I really do feel sorry for whoever lives above 300m, there are no roads anymore, conditions are deadly.

so deffo worth a visit over the horseshoe pass then...or on the racecorse on top of oswestry

  3. I had a few £££'s on at 11/2 ....with skybet....there shut today so can't get hold hold of them to get there official line on it ...best pay up though :)

just double checked mine ......'Settled in accordance with www.metoffice.gov.uk official ruling on whether there is snow in London on Dec 25th.'

  4. what aload of crap this winter is gonna be rubbish for the south always is every year is the same total i wish i could swear because id use nearly every swear word possible to discribe the crap and the over hyping thats done i love net weather,

but am starting to realise that winter is not exciting at all in the south of england if anybody tries to tell me that the events now are on par with the 80s or even 96 id tell you your of your rocker ive never seen such a load of rubbish as ive seen since them days.

and i dont ever see it being any different.

winter09/10 is never going to be anything but crap crap crap crap crap.:yahoo::angry::angry::angry::whistling:

if its any consolation I've only seen one snow shower so far this winter :lazy:

  5. well apparently we had a snow shower yesterday here in north shrops ....but unfortunately I was watching a different shower in Derby lose

very disappointed with the no snow so far here ...really thought it was going to happen last night but it just rained like billio ....somethings going on ...you southern snow stealers

  6. I'll try, OMG I'll try but Shrewsbury has such a terrible history of missing snow. Now I'm really struggling to understand how it can be snowing and settling in Derby but not in Stoke or Cannock (which are both higher than Derby)?????????????????????????????? Oh great can just hear what sounds like rain hitting the windows.

I've been in Derby today watching the Rams ...it was bitter there today with temps never above freezing .....then on the way home from 5pm onwards all the way home to north shropshire the temp was going up all the way peeking at 2c very weird and balmy

  7. i really need some help and advise my daughter is in Canturbury she is going to try to drive home to Maidstone. When will the snow arrive and will it effect her drive. I want her home safely as i feel if she stays in Canturbury i will not see her till Tuesday next week. Can anybody advise what she should do and timings please she is 19 and has never driven in this sort of snow.

    Thanks

get her to stay where she is Snow Queen one ....better to be safe than sorry :(
