  1. Why are these cold spells so short these days? a great day yesterday up to 4" of snow in the morning and showers on and off during the day. Tonight all gone just rain and the odd half a snowman is all we have to show for it

no complaints here...I've not seen as much snow for years ...posibly since the early 80's ...

last years was good with 6 inches but this year ding dong :D

  2. I'm so envious. It rained almost none stop here from mid-day to 7pm, with a short interval between 3-4pm. Finally turned to wet snow shortly after seven, and decides to start sticking just as the band is moving away - UNBELIEVEABLE!

its all swings and roudabouts ...I wish I was over that way when a beast from the east kicks in and you get all the snow....

still coming that way tomoz to my beloved rams though no matter what the weather

    edit... 7-1/2 inches

  3. Freezing cold day, Temp 0oC at present. Light snow flurries overnight adding to lying snow. The pics have just been taken within the last few hrs of the hills around Oldham & Saddleworth.. hope u enjoy, I bloody froze to death takin em! lol

nice piccies :D:D ....what winter should look like

  4. Certainly is an interesting system Kold!

Last frame or two on this loop http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t1/loop-rgb.html shows new small areas of convection in the S/SE area of the circulation, the track also still seems consistantly marginally north of the forecast track for the centre, my thoughts now actually return to the original I had (after the surprise overnight which kinda threw me quite a bit!), staying east or possibly tracking over the island chains for now of Turks, Caicos, strength, heck I dunno..possible Cat1 for the Keys...Chris the Magician I think we'll name this one, what can it pull put of the hat next!

where's the dominican repulic on that run please guy's ....got a mate from work there at the mo :D

  5. slightly off topic and I'm soz.....but has anyone else noticed a revival of barn owls...caus I've seen loads of them lately mostly on my journey to work between dudleston heath (nr ellesmere) and shrewsbury I'm seeing them now most mornings around 6.00 am ...and on the way home ....

I've noticed this over the last 18 months

  6. Your plant is a Datura Stramonium, D4L, otherwise known as a

Thorn Apple. They're not at all common in the wild so you're lucky to have found one.

    T.M

top fella :) can't say I've ever come across them ......shame I pulled the thing up then :) ....but seriously thanks TM problem solved

It looks like something out of Little Shop Of Horrors.

Wait a few days and it'll shout "Feed me Seymour !" :)

looking at the plants toxicity ...if you ate a few of them this is exatly what they would say :D
