Got a pretty good set of violent storms moving toward the london area. Frequent lightning and there were huge anvil crawlers about 2 hrs ago on the first storms. What a night. Gona be a long one. Seeing more lightning as i type. Its gona be fun. WAHEY!

Hi Paul. Its James Menzies here (UK Storm Chaser). I can confirm that the funnel/tornado that crossed in front of you was a tornado. I was on the same storm. In East Oklahoma. News 9 storm tracker also confirmed it. Hope you doing better than i did for a month and a half. Dam storms were all out eastern US this year for some strange reason haha. Take care and have fun. Didnt have time to post report yesterday, so i will put it down today. Just to give you an idea of what i saw, i live in the countryside Nr Guildford and have a masive panoramic view from my house. As i was coming down my track with my girlfriend, there was heavy rain and small hail and the wind shifted direction suddenly and to my amazment, there was a rapidly rotating funnel cloud on the back edge of what i would have to call and weak squall line. The funnel was probably about 200 - 300ft of the ground. So dafodiled cuz i didnt have my camera. Awesome sight though and right by my house WOOHOO!!

I saw a brief well defined funnel cloud between Horsham West Sussex and Rugwick village in Surrey at about 4:30pm from a well formed line of cumulus with embeded rain/thundery showers. Some nice anvils of some of them. Hint of mid level rotation in the clouds while at my friends garage. Didnt have my dam camera. Man was i spitting blood B) . Thats the last time i go out without my camera. James.
