Woww just had a proper thunderstorm, some incredible rumbles and Lightning strikes! And i can still her it going off!
Yeah I just had a text from my mate in Pompy rubbing it in! Looks impressive on the radar
-
You should know by now, that whatever is forecast for us, won't happen
Tell me about it. Our little area is worse than the twilight zone for storms and interesting weather. Annoying really.
-
Aww seems like the risk is dropping for the west mids! As someone said yesterday Meh...
-
Its actually quite exciting today to see what happens abit later. I don't have alot of faith in torro usually as they forecast tornadoes at a drop of a hat, but I cant help but hope they are right today (as long as no one gets hurt of course)
-
Looks like its kicking off down Devon!
-
Probably a good time to start a new convective thread for tonights proceedings leading into tomorrows.
-
Worth an all night tonight to see what comes in?
-
dont you mean LOSING! sorry if your under 12 though, you may see storms tomorrow, good chance
Spelling police hat is yours!
Not too sure about tomorrow for us, seems like its just going to tip it down all day
-
Hey, I have to add onto my 10 thunderstorms so far... lol!!
Harry, we need one of those french MCS imports, literally a 9-12hr overnight monster... will be good to not get any sleep ahah!
Ive never wanted to punch someone more on a forum...in the nicest possible way of course Robbie

I do understand what you're saying, I honestly do, but IMHO april shower scenario storms are like a quick fumble in the back alley after pub closing hours...looks great from a distance, flashes a nice bit of cleavage, but one disappointing bang and the novelty has gone.....where as Spanish plume scenario are like a quality curry.....you look forward to it all day, you can smell it in the air, the anticipation mounts, it arrives and the spices causes fireworks to slam you right between the eyes and then you get the loud rumbles that continue all night long!
Nice analogy lmao

bugger....updraft is decaying rapidly...lightning detector was showing lightning within 10 miles of my location to the NW....now nothing but some light/moderate rain....don't you just love these pulse type storms?!
Indeed AJ Its fun watching but can make your blood boil too. I do ofter wonder if we all secretly get off on the hit and miss nature of UK storms. The chase seems as good as the storm itself!
-
Right under the gustfront now, other than wind its done nothing lmao...such a tease this weather lately
-
Cell to my west might be coming your way Kain so heads up...
Yep mate am looking out my livingroom window at the beast. Nice gustfront on it too!
-
Very dark North and NW of here... we got incoming!!!!
ABOUT BLEEPING TIME haha
-
Looking on the NW radar Im in direct line of a cell thats giving sferics!! Have the gods finally given up torturing me? :D

Only had a bit of light rain and some hail here Kain... look North of Telford for the storms... Need to move 20 odd miles North methinks...
Seems like most of it looks nicer than what it actually produces. No idea why really. The anvils towards Quatt look amazing. Photo soon!
-
Looks a nice cell over Broseley if anyone is over that way!
-
I can see them out my west-facing window- but it's completely clear out at sea, I think the east coast will have a dry day today. Indeed Cleadon looks set to be a good location over the next three days for those after settled dry usable weather, as the winds off the North Sea will tend to keep shower activity out to the west, and the only real complication will be possible low cloud off the North Sea. From my perspective, though, the sooner I get moved further inland the better!
Just don't move to the west mids mate, you will be very disapointed!

Some hail in Shropshire this afternoon
Looks like that shower is about to hit me, its going very black here as the Cb approches. Been watching it arrive from towards the Clee Hills so yeah about Ludlow area
-
Ahh youve been unlucky. We had a strong hail shower from your direction (WNW Of here Bridgnorth is) plus a recent Thunderstorm just SW of here although short lived.
Yeah I saw on the radar theres some beefy stuff around our neck of the woods, but the Bridgnorth shield holds firm! Looking to the north now out my livingroom window and there are 2 big Cb's floating by with very dark bases towards Much Wenlock. Don't look like they are doing anything though.
-
Well since about 10ish we have had Cb's passing by one after another but nothing comes from them. The tops are not very high before they seem to anvil off so it's pretty capped up there. Still some nice photo ops. Ayr on channel 4 looked pretty good the cell there in the background.

Looks about right for a microburst, but damn that was lucky. Who said Mcdonald's is bad for your health! hehe
