Hello Everyone. Just a couple of pictures taken now, to show you whats just arrived over head here :-( Not looking too good for here tonight, Hope everyone else is lucky with storms :-) Talk of the devil, just started to thunder!!!!

Hows it looking your way now? Just spoke to friend on the A1 and they say it was very active over Baldock! Its still going off here, constant rumbles of thunder, not as much lighting though (did see a cracking couple of CG strikes and quite a few sheets though). All in all, quite a good 45 mins worth so far, but had very little rain, but wind really picked up at one point but thats passed now. Can still here the Lightning detector alarm going off at either the RAF base (where the police helicopter lives) or the Golf course.

Afternoon All :-) New website looks cracking! Just a post, Thunder and Ligntning and heavy rain here for the last 30 mins, only just got online as power has been down!

Its mad aint it! Cant believe you havent had it. How you have missed it I just do not know! Hopefully you might get it at some point.

Well, I hope everyone else has had a good show today, like I said, I have never seen or heard anything like this today, and i think we have just had phase 3 of the day, started just after lunch, it come on really quick and we had a good kicking of heavy rain and constant T&L (really quite near to over head) and that lasted for a good hour and a half, then rain faded and the T&L was still about but could hear it moving on. Then Cleared up, could still hear the T&L in the distance, but that faded then went dark again and had another kicking, then again, past and then just flared up again, right over head. It can only think it was close by because everytime their was a flash of lighning, instantly the power went and then a huge house shaking bang. Do pampers do adult size? LOL Hope everyone else has been just as lucky, I dont think its over yet though!

Afternoon all :-) What a day for storms, scince just after lunch, had nothing but heavy rain and thunder and lightning. Lost track at how many times the power went off today, never had thunder like this, im talking near ear drum bursting stuff. I am completly out of clean underwear and what underwear I have let, even daz at 30 couldnt save them! Hope everyone else has been lucky also!

Its over us here now in Hitchin, and its having a right old bang and flash!

Afternoon all Have had T&L rain on and off for most of the day here, but its really starting to get going now. Constant thunder and reg flashes of lighting and pleanty of rain. Hope others are lucky. PS why do idiots insist on letting their dogs out into the garden when its thundering!!

Thanks for that! Thought I was going mad, I looked away for 1 min and they where still over in france and then I looked back and they where on land in the uk! I thought bloody hell thats shifting lol! Thanks for explaining that to me!

Is it me, or has the lightning on the IOW tracker just jumped right across the sea? Its showing strikes on land in UK now? It was just getting to the edge of leaving land in France?

Evening all, hope all are well and happy! Im no expert, but can anyone tell me if Henlow in Hertfordshire is due any storms, Im on my knees with the heat here and would love a good storm to break the air (well, not too good), as much as I like T&L, Lighning scares the living daylights out of me. Cheers!

Skys turning here, getting very dark over Henlow. Simular to yesterday when we had the T&L Start of Round 2 maybe?

Its looking very grim and black over your way from here in Hitchin! Skys getting very very dark here now, still no rain, odd flash of lightning but looks like its coming from Luton way, and deep rolling rumbles. Birds hav dropped from the sky and its gone very quiet...

Thunder and Lightning just started, Hitchin in Herts, Hot, hummid and dry and clouds starting to turn.

Good Afternoon All. Not been on for ages, but things starting up here so thought id post my two penny. Cracking thunder has just started here over the RAF base in Henlow, (Herts / Beds), really loud and deep rolling cracks of thunder, no rain and no lightning that I have seen sofar. OMG!!! Bl**DY NORA, Almighty crack, and the power went off! Sorry about that, quick change of underpants needed their! My god, not heard thunder like that before!! That must of been right over the top, and i think their is lightning, just cant see it, because power went out, and about 5 seconds later, a huge crack of thunder went off! Cant see anything on IOW lightning tracker though? Mad though, quite bright skies and its not raining....

Ill second that! Im near Hitchin in Hertfordshire and I dont think I have ever ever seen anything quite like last night before. Started at about 8Pm, went really dark quickly and in the distance I could just see sky turning from a light blue to a really dark black / grey cloud. At that point I just didnt think it was going to become what it did. About 8:15 this cloud had completly covered the whole sky, the sky was really angry throwing down some huge thick shafts of lightning, thou the thunder was quite a distant rumble but constant lightning bolts to the ground and clouds was spectacular. Had to stand in the garden for over an hour just watching the constant light show but after seeing several nasty shafts of lighting strike the ground quite close, I decided to move indoors. Got to about 10pm and decided to have my shower ready for bed, got out of the shower and got into bed. At that point I think the storm at this point had really got fed up and decided to let rip! Huge, constant lighting and thunder that I felt in my chest, house was shaking and then this almighty flash of lighting took the power out and then a huge rip of thunder like I have never heard in my life, it was that loud and bad, well lets just say, I am completly out of clean underwear! The rain that come with it also was just wild, I cant say it was rain, it was just like a wall of water hitting the house and windows. Then at 11:20pm, it had decided to move on leaving lightning behind, power kept coming on and off which I think was caused my the still constant flashing of lighting in the area. Simply a night of storms that I have never seen before, fantasic but also quite scary, never seen the sky that angry, the shafts of lightning to the ground where just wild!
