  1. Loving the pics and videos guys. Keep them coming. A suggestion - put a swear box in each vehicle and use the dollars to pay for an end of tour piddle up. There should be enough in there to get the whole team slaughtered, the rate you guys are going!
  2. Hail, thunder and a little lightning here in Poole. Just one large bang (which made me jump cause I didn't know it was coming) and a small flash and small rumble. However, the hail shower that we just had was 'wow' factor. At one point it was so hard I couldn't see to the bottom of my garden and I thought the velux was going to break!
  3. Wow. Goes to show how much difference a few miles can make. I have just arrived at work after taking the dog to the vets for a little op. I observed: 1 inch of snow in Corfe Mullen and some very slippy roads, a dusting in Broadstone (0.8 mile down the road) and now at work on the Nuffield Ind Est in Poole (2 miles from Broadstone) there is absolutely zilch. Amazing. Guess that gives a good explanation of how difficult Snow is to forecast!
  4. We've got a light covering of very wet slushy snow. Yuk.
  5. Heavy sleet now. Gonna take a break and have a kit kat I think!!!
  6. But.. but... It's raining here Chrissy?!!?? Oh well, never mind.
  7. Tis fun. Our neighbour said the golf course was still pretty covered, mad nut still playing most mornings. Let us know if you see anything hopeful coming our way. Wind has picked up here somewhat in the last 10 mins, pretty gusty.
  8. I'm a Dorset peep but not much help as I'm east of you! You'll see 'something' before me. At present, chilly, windy and dry. The atmosphere of anticipation on here is quite fun - turning me into a quivering nervous 'will it, won't it' wreck. Keep it going, it'll give me a good excuse to open a bottle of red later
  9. I think this is very much a wait and see situation. We had snizzle, grauple, rain and snow flurries yesterday all within a few hours so I'm thinking anything could happen. As said previously by others - last Feb we had two snow events here that were forecast by all as rain, so you never know. Personally, how things are at the moment, I think it'll be rain for us - it just doesn't feel cold enough.
  10. So I'm confused. I don't really take snow forecasts too seriously as Poole is such a difficult place with regards to weather but Netweather are forecasting heavy rain for Tuesday night here, yet the Met Office and BBC weather are saying Heavy Snow (albeit followed by rain on Wednesday). I'm presuming precipitation will be heavy but the deciding factor will be temperatures? This morning, it is drizzling and whilst feeling chilly, it's a lot milder that it has been for the past week. I don't have to de-ice the car, a bonus. So I guess it's not looking favourable. I'd be interested in others opinions though.
  11. I'm at work on the Nuffield Ind Est - snowing reasonably heavy now. Just starting to settle. How's Broadstone doing guys? Opps just saw your latest post Snowdog. Bet the kids are excited.
  12. Amy - my daughter was livid she's had to go to school too. Not a happy bunny at all. My neice isn't at school today (Warminster) so it's rubbed salt in the wounds which didn't help. I'm hoping we might still get to see some. Will be watching this thread all day in hope.
  13. I'll stay hopeful. Last year took us so much by surprise, it could happen again. I doubt it but I like to think I'm an optimist. I ensured the kids it wouldn't settle last year ..... ha.... had to eat my words (twice too). So lets all have a nice glass of wine, keep our 'eyes to the skies' or 'lamposts' and see what occurs.
  14. Been raining in Broadstone but the met offices Red warning has definately woken me up - never ever had one of those that I remember. We shall see. I've brought work home with me for tomorrow 'just in case'. Just seen the BBC forecast - big rain patches over Poole on the weather maps for tonight. Hey ho.....
  15. What a day it had been. Thunder and Lightening on and off - some of it pretty close by too. I can still see the odd flash in the distance now. Hail showers so frequent and heavy that my daughter built a 'hailman' (OK he was only 7 inches tall but he resembled the real thing, just on a smaller scale). Interesting to say the least- and it all seems to have been quite wide spread across Dorset too. What will tomorrow bring, a heat wave?
  16. Hail, thunder and lightening here. Bizzare!
  17. I saw a massive flash of lightening here at about 10.30pm last. Just the one but by heck did it light up the whole sky.
  18. After rain on and of all day it has been snowing here in Broadstone for about an hour now. Just starting to settle on the cars and some of the ground. Shall be interested to see if it continues.
  19. Hi Snowdog. Can confirm, it's definately the white stuff. Yippee!
  20. Pics are lovely. I bet, by the looks of your back garden at the moment Paul , you won't be hosting a Netweather 'Thunder Snow' BBQ anytime soon!
  21. I caught a glimpse of few tiny flurries over night but none lying on the ground here at all but wasn't expecting any so no disappointment. I'm looking at my nw forecast for Sunday and that looks a little more promising. I'm predicted to be in for a couple of hours of moderate snow Sunday morning - I saw what a couple of hours of moderate snow did in Feb and I'd be happy with that.
  22. Strange that Dave. I was just wondering why I couldn't see everyones location. Makes for good reading if we know where the illusive white stuff falls if it does. Karen (Broadstone, Poole)
  23. Heard a few distant rumbles late this afternoon. All I can say is. Il pleut!!!! Again.
  24. I've been watching views like that here for the past three or four days but all the action happened much further east for me to benefit. Very dramatic formations though so I still enjoyed. I even managed to point out a few obvious mammatus to my friend this morning (sorry no camera with me) and I think I may have just heard a very distant rumble. I can only keep my eyes 'n' ears alert and keep wishing.
