I personally don't have moisture problems in my potato and leak patch. I've been using a mixture of leaf mould (from the nearby woods) and dry grass as a thick mulch and it's always moist underneath.
This is the sort of convective weather I like. A cell approaching from the south-west that actually back-develops enough not to scrape by....a rarity. Good stuff. EDIT - Very nice rainbow.
If the relief wells fail by August...then we could see some significant pockets hit the UK. But nobody knows for sure, that's also what I find worrying. http://rawstory.com/rs/2010/0604/expert-3-times-amount-oil-cap-work/
Hence, why I said "could" eventually hit Britain. This is not really an oil "spill". It's an undersea oil volcano spewing out massive amounts of oil every day at high pressures 5,000 feet beneath the Gulf of Mexico.
It must be awful experiencing that sort of heat, and knowing you will have no air conditioning. The people NEED to follow what the Iranians have done for years (if they don't have access to electrified air conditioning): - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windcatcher
